Emma and Bill’s cottage is the perfect base for a memorable holiday. The coastline between Whitby and Scarborough is breathtaking. Literally, if like me you enjoy walking. The Cinder Track (the old railway line) is a minute from the cottage and offers soaring views of cliffs and glistening waves. It joins with The Cleveland Way that takes you much closer to the cliff edges for a dizzying spectacle of wild waves and dangerous rocks. No wonder Robin Hoods Bay was so popular with smugglers. But what makes these walks so special is that, on returning to Pine Cottage, you sink gratefully into exceptional comfort and luxury - five star hotel standard bed, furnishings and towels plus a state-of-the-art kitchen. Sitting with a glass of Prosecco (thoughtfully provided in the ‘goodie’ hamper) remembering the day’s extraordinary sights and enjoying the views from the cottage garden is one of those experiences you never forget. I’ll definitely be back.
If you are looking for peace and quiet , to be away from it all while still wanting real comfort and luxury then look no further than Pine cottage ! it is all these things and far more ! .
The cottage is beautiful , equipped with the very best of everything and spotlessly clean , the views from the windows are incredible , the silence is deafening !, the location amazing . Spent a wonderful four days here and the only regret was having to leave to come home . There is so much to see and do in the area great places to eat, excellent places to visit. Loved Rivaux Abbey well worth a visit , amazing tea and scones in Dottys vintage tearoom in Staithes...well worth the walk up and down the hill !!
The service received from Emma from our initial enquiry to arriving was fantastic , so helpful and accommodating . In all we cannot recommend Pine cottage highly enough , will definitely be returning next year ! Thank you .
We've just had a week at Pine Cottage and echo all the lovely comments.
We arrived on the Friday night with a welcome from the sea mist! After unpacking we had a bite to eat and an early night - it had been a long day!
Following morning we pulled the blinds up and there it was - the most beautiful view which took our breath away.
The Cottage is spotless and everything about it is quality. The welcome pack was a nice touch and much appreciated. Immediately you start to relax which was just what we wanted and needed.
For some it might be a little isolated, but for us it was perfect and added to its charm.
We will certainly return here and have to say Emma the owner was a delight to deal with.
Wow what a gorgeous cottage !! Decorated beautifully and to a very high standard . Loved all the finishing touches .
Brilliant base for visiting Whitby , robin hoods bay , Scarborough and Boggle hole . The welcome basket was very kind and very much appreciated filled with exciting goodies . Thank you for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable .

We have just had second weekend in this beautiful cottage with views to die for.
Emma & Bill the owners spare no expense on the presentation of their cottage. Beautiful furnishings and fittings ensuring you want for nothing. Everything has been thought about to the nth degree.
Not for those seeking the bright lights and entertainment close by. If you are looking for peace and tranquility in a secluded position, look no further, you will not be disappointed. Perfect for walkers and cyclists, there is a disused railway line just down from the cottage allows you to walk or cycle to Robin Hood's Bay Bay and Ravenscar. Not really for the infirmed as the cottage has some steep steps down to it but there are safety rails to hold on to.
