We came here for my mum’s 65th birthday. In our group we had 5 adults and three children so took three rooms. I had no idea what to expect but I was far from disappointed.
The owner is a Sheffield lad, and the sense of humour and hospitality matches his background. As soon as we drove into the car par, we were welcomed and shown to the champagne cottage we had booked. After a day on the East coast we wanted a beer so went straight to the bar which was great – hassle free and a complete home from home experience.
After a couple of drinks, it was back to the rooms which were all themed around fine Champagnes and immaculate in every respect, with open beams in the suites and an open fire along with a number of quirky features.
We had asked for balloons and flower for mum. We got flowers, balloons, confetti, and a fabulous private dining room to celebrate with excellent service and fantastic food.
The next morning, the same faces were there to serve us breakfast which was great too.
I’m going back here without a doubt. It’s a family owned business with high standards and a hard working team behind it who put every effort into making your stay memorable. Give it a try and enjoy it 

We have stayed here several times - sometimes just the 2 of us, sometimes with 2 teenagers in tow and once with retired parents. My significant other ate here with a fairly large party of golfers about a year ago but forgot where it was (probably drunk!) and we had to drive around all the local villages until he recognised it! The pub appears popular wiht the hunting, shooting, fishing and golfing crowd. Much has been said about the food - it is exceptional (as is the service from all involved with the bar and restaurant). The rooms within the hotel are more than adequate but the Champagne Rooms are of a much higher standard (have only stayed in there once and that was an 'upgrade' for Valentine's Evening!) Jarod is not obnoxious, rude or abrasive - he did admonish my mother for requesting a WKD Blue ('we don't serve alcopops madam' was the acerbic retort) but she fully deserved it - women of 67 shouldn't be drinking them anyway! In my humble opinion he is a larger than life character and the world needs more of his ilk!!

We found this place by chance on the internet when looking for a pub/restaurant with log fires and good food. What a find! After reading the reviews(hard to find) we opted for this place in the middle of nowhere and crossed our fingers! The reviews did make us laugh especially the rude landlord and never open between 2 and 6! Any way we arrived at 11am thinking we would go walking nearby. The pub was open and the landlord said our room would be ready within the hour and told us what was nearby. We headed off to Swanton and walked to the Anvil Inn for lunch (worth a visit) We returned to the Blue Bell aorund 4pm with no one in sight! The Champagne House we located and our key in the door so we let ourselves in. We opted for a suite the DP suite ... (definitely splash out and book a champagne suite ) It was lovely not huge but the quality of furnishings and the log fire made it. Patio doors to a little terrace was a nice touch too. Lovely coffee and biscuits helped too. The bathroom although small was fine and maybe a fluffy bathrobe would add the finishing touches. For £145 BB though well worth the money. We were booked into the restaurant for 8pm and the place was full...every table taken and we knew why after tasting the lovely food. Succulent prawns, black pudding starters then lemon sorbet a nice touch. The seabass was wonderful and the steaks huge. All in all the meal at £75 with wine champagne too. A very enjoyable night and the locals kept us entertained. Breakfast was lovely and we were told we could stay as long as we liked even up til 3pm as the room wasn't booked. A wonderful stay and would definitely return...oh and also we were looking out for the obnoxious owner...he wasn't that bad..could have been a bit friendlier but hey it didn't spoil it for us and there is nothing worse than someone OTT!!
Tip Book a suite and dress up some people were wearing bow ties, waistcoats and long evening dresses!

I stayed in the Bluebelle Inn in Weaverthorpe on the 2nd Oct for a two night stay. I stayed in one of the champagne suites and had a fantastic time. Log fires - private lounges and food to die for!! The service was exceptional and the owner Jarod was charming and pleasant. he chefs worked exceptionally well for such a busy evening - true quality. Every customer was thanking the staff for great service and great food and I was one of them.

In my hayday I was a first class stewardess for JAL and know about giving and recieving quality service and the BlueBell delivered in every way. Will definetly stay again and have recommended the place to all my family and friends.

To be fair our food was good and worth every penny it was just a pity the chef was let down by the service and that our evening was ruined by the Landlord who turned out to be the owner. What an obnoxious and foul mouthed man. He fussed around us like a second hand car sales man, helped himself to a glass of our wine and spouted on about how much money he made. Then when we recived the bill we noticed a bottle of wine on the bill we had not ordered or recieved! On raising this with the Landlord we were told it was our mistake and the bill was correct. On refusing to pay for this phantom bottle of wine my husband was threatened as were our friends and we were told to [--] off. Actually fearing violence from the awful foul mouthed man we made a hasty exit. It was an awful end to our night and after such good food was a real shame. The Chef and kitchen staff deserve better.

We stayed at the Blue Bell for the 1st time after having eaten there many times. We were not disappointed! My husband and I had the Dom Perignon room and our friends had the Krug room, they are both in the 'Champagne House' of which there are 6 rooms (There are also rooms in the main pub). Each room had a wood burning stove in which was lovely, were very well decorated and extremely clean. Although the bathroom was not huge and could maybe have done with another shelf to put toiletries on it was still very nice .

As always the food was excellent, there is a very good menu and a great choice on the specials board. Gerard who owns the pub is a very nice person and makes sure everyone is well looked after. Whether you are sat in the restaurant or the bar area the ambience is lovely. Although the village of Weaverthorpe seems off the beaten track, once you have been and get used to winding road it is well worth the journey.
