I have been here on many occasions now, and really do wish I could say that the experience was perfect - but it never is somehow!

The food is O.K. but nothing special - for example, on a farm specialising in eggs, you would think the chef could turn out a decent fried egg with soft yolk and set white wouldn't you? But, on none of our four breakfasts this morning was the egg cooked to perfection, and the whole meal was warm rather than hot.

The service was swift enough today, but I have known it much slower. Sadly, the staff have very few "people skills" - the least of which would be to raise a smile once in a while. This morning all three of them looked as miserable as sin and appeared to be there under duress just waiting for home time.

They have also introduced a charge recently to use the outside area which consists of a verandah with very nice tables and chairs undercover alongside a green open space with trampolines, pedal cars and tractors and various other child-friendly bits and bobs. I find it hard to understand why there is a need to pay extra to use an outside facility, particularly when the prices in the cafe are on the top-side anyway.

Shame - this place could be top-notch, but sadly it's not nearly there yet.

Visited a couple of times in February. Both occasions had a good experience. Good location, great to watch the egg producers, and a farm shop to hand/ Excellent breakfast. Only thing we did not like was the sticky table problem, but the food and service more than compensated for this. D&S 24/2/14

On a lovely sunny day this would be a great place to stop. It was rainy when we visited - table of 5 - but the place was still busy.
Food was fine and well priced; decent selection of dishes. We ate well for £70 all in.
Poor service let it down. I don't mind a mistake but several in succession was too much. The most annoying bit is not getting what we had ordered. I'd come on an office lunch outing but I couldn't trust it for a serious business trip. Get the service up to scratch and you could have a
very fine farm restaurant here.

Lovely food and surroundings completely ruined by the haphazard disorganised runnings of the restaurant. Staff can't seem to break a smile. Wouldn't give my daughter ice with her water unless I paid for bottled water. Left feeling rather fed up :(

A family run business which offers great food and service all day with a breathtaking view of the countryside, outside tables for those nice summer days and activities for the kids which includes a zip wire, trampoline and bouncy castle, recommend a visit!
