Not the best of places to take a family. The house is interesting enough but nothing special. There is a small play area for children but not much.

“magnificent”
Reviewed 12 April 2013

boughton house must be one of the best stately homes in the country .Unfortunately the actual house is only open for a short time each year as it is a private home. but it has wonderful treasures on show and it is absolutely magnificent. the grounds are open more often , but go when both house and gardens are open and you will have a wonderful day.

“Yuck. Simple as that.”
Reviewed 23 January 2013

Hate these type of ''grand houses' with paintings that are so old they look dingy and of people you could care less about. On site restaurant is EXPENSIVE & mediocre...not worth the entrance fee at all...rip off and a snoozefest to put it bluntly.

“well worth half a day”
Reviewed 18 January 2013

the art mostly, but also the care with which the family have maintained a presence there, so that visitors feel like they may have just walked out of the room being viewed a few moments ago. Not anything very spectacular about the grounds, but as a living museum, I found the house excellent.
