The location is superb, set literally on the river Nene (you can look down and see the mill race run under your feet). It is within easy walking distance of Oundle, the marina and the nature reserve.

The restaurant is on the first floor, (not sure about disabled access to it), and serves a very cosmopolitan menu for lunch and dinner.

The servers are extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and very helpful indeed - some of it needed translating!

We had the three course lunch which was very well presented in nouvelle cuisine style, with a range of soups, pate's and suchlike. The Vegan with us also had a rich choice of food, and was more than happy with his selection. The main course was a little more substantial than some I have seen on TV Chef programmes, and very tasty. Desserts were also on offer, some quite novel to us (ice cream with hot coffee).

All in all it was a most pleasant and savoury experience.

We had Sunday lunch here recently, the whole meal was very enjoyable. Both tasty and well balanced, there wasn't a morsel I didn't enjoy, the bread was particularly good. There was a good ambience too, sometimes Sunday lunch times can be a bit noisy, but overall there was just a gentle hum of conversations, enough to give atmosphere, but not so loud as to be obtrusive. The wait between starter and main course was too long, it is more noticeable when there are only two of you dining, but that's the only negative thing I could begin to comment on.

Very average yet most expensive in its range in the area. The quantity of food and tea/coffee was not generous. Quality just average, no special skill. Location great, staff friendly. It is £10 for the extra pot of coffee or tea and Manager has to be consulted as he works closely with the chef and nobody else can make a decision.

Booked the Oundle Mill for mothers day dinner, we were sent the menu options to pre order before the day probably due to the expected volume of people on an occassion like this. Menu was decent and communication was good. Arrived at the restaurant and it is a beautiful building with lovely surroundings. Food was amazing, potato and leek veloute was so delicious. Great service from the staff, lovely meal, happy family

Stayed in the Mill Room for 1 night with my other half for my birthday which is the most beautiful room iv ever stayed in. The bathroom is gorgeous, the remote control fireplace, the bed the lights everything is just stunning! Followed by dinner which just continued the amazing trend, 3 courses which were beautifully presented and tasted incredible. All the while the staff service was distinguished, our waitress Krista was so helpful and the added little details just perfected our stay!
Defiantly looking to stay here again!
