We were taken here for a special meal at Christmas. We really enjoyed the lunch. Three choices for each course and everyone was pleased with what they had. I had a chocolate dessert which was amazing. Ambience is great. We were the only people there at lunchtime! Would recommend for a special occasion

Room Tip: We only used the restaurant

We have eaten at the Vine House on four occasions & always has fantastic food. We've eaten there with friends or as a couple and have always had great service. The food is superb, original creative and consistently excellent.

With a very warm, friendly and relaxed welcome, we have to say that this is the most outstanding delicious 3 course meal we've enjoyed in South Northants/North Bucks area.
Salmon with peanut butter to start, (and does it work!!)), exquisite saddle of lamb for main and dark chocolate with bacon for dessert (yes, mad I know but stunning!).
A jewel of a find so if you come across it - go! We're already deciding when we go back...

I stayed at the vine house from 11 Feb to 14 Feb room 27. The room are well decorated and tidy. Shower is a little bit week but is adequate. Needs a bit of space to put your stuff net to the sink. In cold weather keep the heating on, and the extra electric heater on, as it can get cold at night.
Breakfast is at 0800 hrs, a bit late for me as I am working away from home, but they very kindly supply a tray with muesli (other cereals are available) milk and orange juice in a Thermos flask, with cafeteria ready to go. Evening meal in the restaurant was £31 for three course. The do mention the Barley Mow Pub over the road, its to your right coming out of the restaurant. Nice big open fire to sit by with cod and chips at good price, friendly pub.
TV is a bit small for the distance from the bed, but worked OK. The people at Vine house are very welcoming/ helpful; and they do point out they are a restaurant that does rooms, not the other way about. On the whole a pleasant experience. If you go, does the owner remind you of Pauline Quirke?

Room Tip: Don't forget to leave your key behind the door when you leave, or it will cost you as the locks...

Dined at the vinehouse yesterday evening (8 Feb). Food was very good, excellently presented, serving staff very good, wine list pretty good as well. The only slight negative was that 2 of our party were slightly delayed, we were booked for 8 pm and already the last diners to take their tables in the restaurant. We sat down at around 8.15 and then felt very rushed throughout the evening. We were the last in the restaurant and before 10.00 pm staff were laying tables ready for breakfast next day all around us, we had a taxi booked and called to bring it forward. It would have been nice to have a coffee and brandies maybe back in the lounge but didn't feel comfortable and left shortly after 10.30 pm. Overall good food, very well presented, reasonably priced for the quality, but our recommendation, eat early.........

After returning for our sixth visit, the food was as always outstanding, delicious and presented beautifully. The service is second to one. The wine list is extensive. Julie always ensures we have our preferred table. A real gem of a restaurant. Gary & Suzanne

Food OK, but the menu is very limited to only 3 items in each category.
If you do not like venison or plaice then there is little else.
Admittedly it is published with an ''example'' menu but no indication that example is almost the total.
The mandatory 12.5% service is also published but mandatory service charge encourages little additional effort from the staff and this is the case.
the service does not match the expectation.
We also felt very hurried, with meals served within minutes of placing and tables cleared as soon s the plates were empty. If you want good-fast-food, this is it, for a specula night out or meal, perhaps reconsider.
