“Not so good”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

Benefited from a Groupon deal. We stayed for 2 nights, one night on our way to the Lake district, and one night on our way back. The deal was good but we were not entirely satisfied.
Breakfast was not excellent and the dinner that was offered with the deal included a lot of supplements to be paid. We were even charged a cup of tea when most of us did not have a dessert !
Some of the showers did not work properly. Avoid room 106 above the kitchen, The bed is really small, the room is noisy and smelly with no real windows!
The hotel itself is very old fashion and otherwise comfortable.

We have been back to this hotel four times and it is the service and staff that brings us back everyone. We have friends that live nearby so we meet up with them. We have booked for our birthdays and the chef, without our knowing prepared a birthday cake for us. It really makes a difference when you get service above and beyond. It won't be long before we go back.

We booked our stay through Groupon for Easter sunday we were booked in at reception by very polite helpful staff and after a short visit to Kettering came back to a 3 course Sunday lunch
The food was excellent with a great choice once lunch was done we checked out our room (102) although it was facing the high street we were pleasantly surprised at how big and comfortable it was.
I read other reviews on here that were not very complimentary but have to say we thoroughly enjoyed our time here the staff are extremely courteous and helpful and nothing was too much trouble the only thing left to say is try it for yourself you may just be pleasantly surprised.

We stayed for a weekend recently on a deal, £89 for 2 nights with a two course meal on the first night.
The staff were pleasant and welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay.

The hotel was clean and tidy and suitably decorated for a building of its age and character.

We ate in the restaurant on the first night and although the food was very nice the menu choice was rather limited. Despite the meal being included in our deal I paid a supplement to have steak which came with salad and chips....a tomato and a few mushrooms wouldn't have gone amiss!

Breakfast was self service but there was a good range of items and all were of good quality.

Our room was warm clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was adequate. I read one review where they complained that only one small bar of soap was provided.....all I can say is buy your own don't be so tight!!

A downside to the room was the small tv mounted on the wall, it was too small to watch properly because of the distance it was away from the bed.

All in all we would recommend the hotel and would stay again

Room Tip: There is some road noise at night from the road at the front of the hotel

Me and my husband stayed for 2 nights this week, a Monday and Tuesday night. We thought we would treat ourselves by booking the Superior room.

The room was nicely furnished and a good size, however it seemed that money had been spent on the bedding and flat screen TV, but not anything else in the room.

The bathroom was old fashioned, mould in the grout around the windows. We were only provided with one large bath towel and two hand towels, not enough for two people. The only complimentary toiletries were a bar of soap and a tiny bottle of shampoo, again not enough for two people.

The tea and coffee facilities were very basic, we were only provided with two sachets of sugar and 3 little pots of UHT milk. There was a bottle of water, however no fridge so it was warm and not drinkable.

Our room was not cleaned, or the beds made on the second day of our stay. We were not given any more toilet roll (there was only half a roll in there on the first day), tea and coffee were not restocked, and still no more towels.

Breakfast in the morning was nice, we went for the full English and did enjoy it, our only problem was the tables are very small and they bring out a lot of plates etc. We could barely eat without knocking anything over.

Overall the stay was satisfactory at the best. We were disappointed that we had paid for a 'superior room' and it was below the standard of what you would get at a Premier Inn. We will not be staying here again.

Room Tip: Superior rooms are not worth paying extra for

Thank you for a wonderful Mothers Day lunch - great location, fabulous service and very tasty Sunday lunch with real flavour. There were 6 of us in our party and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Great atmosphere and wonderful hospitality as always at the Bridge.

This was a special occasion for us, with my elderly Mum here for the day, and going to the Bridge was a fabulous choice. Thank you.

Highly recommended. If you haven't been yet - you should definitely try it!

We stayed here again on another groupon deal which included a 3 course meal which was fantastic.
The room was a very nice refurbished room. The hotel staff are all extremely friendly and polite and efficient.
The evening meal was very nice and again service was good.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing as the sausages were cold but overall ok.
We will return.
