We stayed at grey stoke for 2nights. We were welcomed by the delightful Audrey, you made us a large pot of tea, accompanied with plate of delicious biscuits. Our room was light airy with a lovely en suite. The weather during our stay was very hot, so the oxygenated shower was a delight( infact were going to get one ourselves). Sorry Tom (he's also lovely) we can't praise this b&b highly enough. It was the extra the choice of breakfast , the toiletries, sweets, a guest fridge to store food or drink ,we used it for our small ice packs and even sherry in the lovely guest lounge that makes this so special. The breakfast room overlooks the garden. With a bird table that's visited by all varieties of local birds for their breakfast. It put a smile on everyone's face. We'll be back.

Stayed for two nights as part of our honeymoon trip. Lovely quiet room overlooking the garden, great shower! Breakfast choices were varied and cooked to order. Convenient location, everything within easy walking distance. The hosts were very knowledgeable about their local area and happy to recommend pubs and restaurants. Friendly too, without being too obtrusive. Thoroughly enjoyable stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Alnwick.

We can't rate this highly enough! Easy to find and a few minutes' walk from the main road in Alnwick centre, Greycroft is thoroughly excellent. On-road parking is immediately adjacent and there is a small private parking area directly outside the entrance. A very warm reception from Tom and Audrey welcomed us despite us being somewhat behind schedule, and we were immediately impressed with the dining-room and guest areas. Our twin room (No.6) was very comfortable with shower/WC ensuite, complimentary dressing gowns, TV and free WiFi. The sensible request to pre-notify the owners of breakfast preferences meant a very prompt serving of the lavish 'full English' type breakfast, which left us unable to manage any lunch! If you prefer other breakfast fare you have just to make your choices known. I can't see how any guest could find fault with Greycroft, which is a few minutes' walk from Barter Books, a 'must' for readers.

Room Tip: As Greycroft is very close to a large RC church which has quite a loud 24/7 quarter-hour, half-hour...

We had a wonderful stay with Tom and Audrey. Nothing was too much trouble, we received a warm welcome and cup of tea when we arrived. We stayed in the Yellow Room, spacious yet warm, lovely shower room too.

Breakfasts were served overlooking their lovely garden, and we watched the (many) birds feeding while we were served a delicious breakfast.

Tom and Audrey were very knowledgeable, and we agree with a prev reviewer that they had discount coupons which saved us money.

There is nothing at all to fault, its the perfect place for a holiday.... don't worry about staying in Seahouses for Farne/ Bamburgh/ Lindisfarne... they are all just a short drive away, and it Alnwick is a perfect place to stay. The roads were all very quiet.

We would not hesitate in recommending this lovely B and B to anyone.

Room Tip: The Yellow room was very spacious, and worth the extra money.

If you are intending to stay in this area look no further than Greycroft, it is without doubt one of the best B and Bs we have stayed in, nothing is too much trouble for Tom and Audrey who welcome you with a willingness to share their passion for the area. We stayed 3 nights in the Red room and it was faultless, breakfast was superb with personal choices met every morning, if you asked for something it was made available. Fridge stacked with water on the landing availble for patrons to use with late night drinks provided in the lounge all free of charge; nothing was too much trouble and you can book here with total confidence. Make sure you buy your tickets for the castle and gardens through the hosts as it works out even cheaper than internet bookings, all focal points in and around Alnwick are within walking distance supported by good local knowledge from Tom and Audrey who will provide the perfect retreat for your stay in this part of the world which is well worth a visit.

We had 3 wonderful nights at this B&B in June, we stayed in the yellow room which was huge, with a double bed, wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables as well as a 2.5 seater lounge, coffee table and tub chair and large screen TV. We also had tea and coffee making facilities which included biscuits and chocolates. Our hosts Audrey and Tom were very welcoming and gave us helpful tips on what to see in the area. Breakfast served in the atrium was a relaxed affair and everything you could possibly want to eat was available. The backyard, which our room overlooked was a treat for the eyes with wonderful flowers to delight the eye. Everything was kept immaculately clean. The bathroom had a shower only, which we prefer, it was quite large and had a shelf that we could put our toiletries on, something that's often missing in hotels. Also the toiletries supplied were very good. Unfortunately it is very difficult to get wifi connection in this room unless you sit right behind the closed bedroom door then you get a weak connection. You can however get good reception in all other areas of the B&B, even in the garden. Highly recommend staying here when you're in Alnwick.

Room Tip: The yellow room is the largest room available and very comfortable. We did see other rooms when we p...

We spent three nights at Greycroft in early May. What a wonderful experience! We second everything that has been said about Tom and Audrey and their wonderful, welcoming home. Upon arrival they greet you with tea and biscuits, and advise you on the best use of your time in this wonderful area. We spent one day visiting Dunstanburgh Castle and Lindisfarne Island, and another day in Alnwick where we walked to the castle to visit the amazing state rooms. Audrey pointed out that Barter Books was located just steps away. If you love books, you must visit.

Breakfast each morning was delicious, and we discovered that Alnwick has a number of really good restaurants, starting with Carlos Fish and Chips! We thought the Tapas Bar and Lilburns were fine choices, and the Treehouse has surprisingly good food given its magical ambience. We hope to return soon to Northumberland and Greycroft.
