We have just returned from an excellent 2 night stay at Holly Lodge. Hosts George and Jackie were made for the job. They were attentive, helpful and informative, without being intrusive. Jackie showed us around and then gave us tea and biscuits in the guest lounge. There were 2 comfy sofas, large flatscreen TV, DVDs and books for our use. There was even a sherry and a beer for relaxing in the evening. What a good start.

Our king size bed was extremely comfortable and the en-suite shower room was very clean and easy to use. There were plenty of soft white towels. A kettle and tea tray are always welcome and the flatscreen TV on the wall made easy viewing from the bed...luxury.

The breakfasts were delicious: a selection of cereals, fruits and yogurts, plus a choice of freshly cooked food. Also a variety of drinks. When we were ready to go out for the day, there was a bottle of cold water to take with us. It is the little extras that make this B&B so special.

Thank you George and Jackie for looking after us so well.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms for the less mobile, only 3 steps (with a hand rail) up from reception. Ours was...

As soon as you meet Jackie and George they make you feel this is no ordinary B & B, the warm welcome and nothing is to much trouble, the rooms are very clean and well laid out, they change towels every day, there is beer, sherry and bottled water available, the breakfasts are very filling and the menu is quite varied. the B & B we have ever stayed at, outstanding not only the establishment but Jackie and George.

We had the pleasure of staying 3 nights recently. Nothing was too much trouble for Gorge and Jackey. Amazing room with the most comfortable bed we have slept in and a bathroom like a Roman Spa. Super choice of breakfast options and very well cooked. It will the 1st choice to stay when we next visit Northhumerland. Thank you Jenny & Nigel

Just got home from a fabulous 2 night stay for our Wedding Anniversary. Hosts George and Jackie cannot do enough for you, their attention to detail and to their guests is wonderful. Our room was very spacious and bathrrom was beautiful. Complimentary water, beer, tea on arrival and sherry in the lounge - utterly fantastic. The beds were so comfortable we fell asleep instantly. Breakfast choices were excellent and I had scrambled egg and smoked salmon with warm toasted bagel, my hubby had full english breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. Locals were lovely and friendly. Tried the Tanners Arms and the Fleece public houses - great beer - I was told, I prefer Gin and Tonic. We will have to return later in the year.xxxx

That 75 out of 82 travellers who stayed at Holly Lodge rated it excellent really says it all, and more to the point all their comments turned out to be true. The place really is immaculate, the welcome warm, the beds luxuriously comfortable, the bathrooms well kitted out, and the generous portions of freshly cooked food most palatable. Everything you could wish for in a B&B and more!

Would advise everyone to stop here! Beautifull b&b! Being a local myself I would rate this b&b much better than any of the others in Alnwick and surrounding areas! I could not believe my eyes when entering the house looks small from outside then you enter and your are amazed by the sIze of the place.. Huge!! The bedrooms are beautifull to, great size and huge and comfy bed! Wet room bathroom is just fab to! Wish I could of stayed longer than one night! Breakfast was amazing, cooked to perfection! George and his wife who run the place are very polite and welcoming! They make you feel very at home! Final point the b&b is around a 3 min walk to town centre. All in all this is a fantastic b&b and you would be silly not to boom here.

We stayed in Holly Lodge for two nights (3rd and 4th June) for the Jubilee Celebrations and couldn't have chosen a better B&B. Holly Lodge is set in a quiet area of the town but is still within very close walking distance of the Town Centre - and even closer to Barterbooks, Alnwick Castle and the Gardens!

George and Jackie are a husband and wife team who own the B&B and are so friendly and completely committed to ensuring that every guest has a wonderful stay. The accomodation is modern, welcoming, spotlessly clean and the beds are to die for - I have never slept in more comfortable ones - even in top hotels. A number of complimentary goodies adds to the general feeling that we, the customer, really matter.

Breakfasts were filling and freshly cooked, with a number of hot options to choose from as well as the usual cereal, fruit, yoghurt, toast etc.

We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Room 2 isn't as big as some of the others, however the only slight con to this is that storage s...
