Owner description: The Tanners Arms ale house features six handpulls which carry all-local real ales, judiciously chosen, fastidiously kept and a pleasure to sup; a good selection of whiskies to warm and revive every palate; regular live music sessions of all varieties; the most eclectic jukebox in Northumberland; and most important of all, a friendly, laid-back environment full of good crack and camaraderie. A good old-fashioned English pub, and a pleasant spot to while away an evening…

Gorgeous little pub and a very friendly barman. All made for a good place to get our group 'regrouped'!

The best pub I've been to in many years, fantastic selection of ales. Found it by accident while looking for a CAMRA Pub. Will return time and again.

This was our local pub during a stay in Alnwick. It has a really cosy atmosphere with local beers and cider which was a little different from the normal.

I'd definitely pop in if you're in the area. Especially if you're feeling cold as you can enjoy the lovely open fire along with a tasty pint.

Amazing pub. Such great service. Wonderful company. Large fire always on. Fantastic local beers. 5 min from centre. Found it by accident last year. This year we booked a holiday with a cottage deliberately near to it. Juke box with the best tunes ever!!! No cheese. Totally nothing but classics. If it's not your scene avoid so you don't ruin it for the rest of the world!! Outstanding!!!!!
