“Excellent day out”
Reviewed 14 October 2012

Had a fantastic day out at Woodhorn. £3 to park and the rest is free. Packed with interesting facts about the colliery, museum exhibition excellent would appeal to all ages. The gallery was the reason for our visit after seeing the tv programme regarding the 'pitmen painters', we were not disappointed and spent ages enjoying the paintings. When it is time for lunch you will find a lovely cafe with homemade produce. EXCELLENT

We are delighted to hear of your visit to Woodhorn. The paintings by the Ashington Group now known better as the Pitmen Painters are rather special and have been attracting visitors from all over the country. Did you know you can buy a print of your favourite painting too. Just have a look at our website.
Hope to see you again sometime.

Delighted to hear about your visit. Did you know our railway volunteers have just launched an accessible carriage too? This means they can now cater for visitors in wheelchairs so everyone can enjoy a trip on the train.
