Excellent location in the centre of Bamburgh so great for shops, restaurants and the Castle. Great to have ample bath/shower rooms, especially good for large groups. Backgarden suitable for BBQ though didn't use due to weather, however made good use of the large well equipped kitchen. Excellent Sky TV available too.
We love Bamburgh and visit quite often. We recently stayed at Marram house and were really impressed with this fantastic property. Every effort has been made to make guests feel welcome including a playroom equipped with toys, books and games to to keep the little ones happy. The whole house has been finished to an amazing standard and has everything to make any stay there a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The owner obviously cares about his guests and quickly answered any queries we had. Can't recommend this property enough, we will certainly return next year.
Stayed at Marram House in June. The house is fantastic - lots of space and well laid out. It's location in the village is spot on. The only small gripe I would have is that for the money paid, I would have expected a bit of a welcome pack - teabags, coffee etc & soap or hand-wash in the bathrooms! Other than that, a really lovely stay.
It was great to be back at Marram House. We absolutely love it and feel it's a home from home so much that we've been there 4 times in the past 18 months. Superb location , superb facilities. You need something ... it's there. From visiting with friends, older family and younger family members it's been a hit in all seasons. We really couldn't recommend it enough.. well not too much so we can still squeeze in a few stays throughout the year!
Marram House was a fantastic choice for our family get together. The location was key, close to all amenities. The accommodation was of a high standard. The bifolding doors when open created a lovely flow from the living room through to the patio area in garden. Marram house provided ample space to accommodate all guests. The kitchen was well equip.
The last time we visited Bamburgh, we stayed at Bamburgh Barn. We wanted to return there as it's fantastic but it's very difficult to get in as they are booked up so far in advance. When we enquired, the owner's advised us that they also owned Marram House in the village too. Given our experience at the Barn we decided to go for it. We are glad we did.
As with the Barn, it was spotlessly clean with excellent beds and first class bed linen and towels. Incredibly comfortable and well decorated. The whole of the downstairs and stairwells to the top of the house had just been painted and the owners has just installed a new Nest thermostat to enhance ease and comfort of setting the temperature. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and the ensuites are lovely too.
It was only my husband and I staying so we didn't really need all the space (the house has 4 bedrooms, a large kitchen diner backing on to the garden and two separate living rooms - one for relaxing and one for games) but it really was peaceful and lovely and sumptuous to relax there. When we stayed, the sun was lighting the kitchen/diner up by the time we got up and it was lovely having breakfast with the large doors open.
Again, the location is great because it's just (literally) a stone's throw from the Mizen Head, Victoria Brasserie, the "Middle" pub and the village store. When we visited, the village was already getting busy so we were glad to once again have off street parking - nothing worse that hunting around for a space on the road after a lovely day out.
We've already booked to return to Bamburgh Barn for next May as we really didn't need all the space for just the two of us. However, we really would recommend this property if the Barn is already booked or you need 4 bedrooms rather than 3!
We look forward to our trip to Bamburgh again next May with my husband's parents.
