Finally managed to visit this museum, first time since it re-opened following being fully refurbished. I am glad I went though, as a lot of good work has been done to preserve the items on display. Anyone with an interest in lifeboats or maritime history should definitly pay a visit.

We hadn't planned to visit the museum after spending time in the church but the weather convinced us that a half hour in this wonderful little RNLI museum would be a good idea; and thank goodness it did. Intimate and delightfully presented, we came out with a real sense of having knowledge of the bravery of Grace Darling and the tragedy of her short life. Curators of other small, dedicated museums should ensure this is on their must-do-this-year list.

This has been totally revamped since we last visited. Free to enter and relives the life and story of grace darling. Voluntary donations and contributions to the RNLI.

Small, but superb museum at the top end of the village just passed the church. Car Parking best in the village square around the grassed areas - watch out for the double yellow lines! This is a superb museum and great to visit when the weather is not behaving.
