“The hotel has a sort of minimalistic feel”
Reviewed 15 August 2012

We started our four night stay at the Sunningdale in a small unattractive twin room but were moved to a nicer double after a couple of days. The hotel has a sort of minimalistic feel which was okay during the lovely weather but would not have been so cosy on a beak winter’s day. Breakfasts were ample help yourself jobs which could not be faulted and staff and management [or were they the owners] were friendly and helpful. It was our first visit to Bamborough, we loved the village, the beach was gorgeous and the castle and the cricket pitch underneath it very dramatic. We ate in just about all the pubs /restaurants in the village and they are all pretty similar in price and quality [adequate pub food with marked up prices].

“Weekend stay”
Reviewed 14 August 2012

We were diving the Farne Islands over the weekend and I booked into the Sunningdale well in advance. The staff were very friendly and left the restaurant open in the morning, with a help yourself breakfast ready as we were diving early.
