The separate Armstrong and Aviation Artifacts museum gives visitors a glimpse into the creativity and industrial genius of Lord Armstrong. We visited Bamburgh castle by accident. Absolutely breathtaking the views are amazing the beach is beautiful. And a visit inside the castle is a must and at £25 for family of 4 is value for money. Once inside the castle there were places to eat and grab a coffee. Also archery for all ages, and again at a cost of £2 value for money. The castle itself is beautifully preserved and the rooms open to the public do not disappoint they are beautiful. by far and away beast castle we visited. The staff were friendly and informative ensuring we had a great day out. Id love to go back.

“Bracing Bamburgh....”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

As a first time visitor to the Northumbrian coastline, we had to visit this imposing fortress. The first discovery we made was that tickets are available at a 10% discount from local tourist information offices.Staff very helpful bad friendly and the castle itself fascinating.

“Lovely visit....!!!”
Reviewed 30 August 2014 via mobile

Went here as a family and was only £25 which was a really good price to start with, and I have to say it was the best castle I've visited, lots and lots of interesting things to look at and kids activity pack made it interesting for the little ones. Would recommend a visit if you have a few hours, also surrounded by a beautiful beach and lots of great food around the corner. A very beautiful place.

“Brilliant day out”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

When we first approached Bamburgh Castle we were met with this beautifully imposing building perched high upon the hill. Driving up the driveway you get some spectacular views over the surrounding area and get to see the castle from most aspects above you. Car parking information was clearly sign posted and the attendant was very helpful in finding a parking space on a busy day. Within the castle you get some spectacular views from the battlements which are adorned with varying sized cannons ( with descriptions about their functions and variations from their neighbours). The Keep itself was a lovely place to walk around. The numerous rooms were full of interesting objects and furniture as well as information boards that gave you snippets of information about the physical layout of the rooms. The most striking of rooms by far is the Main Hall with its beautiful high ceilings and carved beams. While in the Main Hall, we had the pleasure of talking to Keith, one of the lovely staff. He was able to tell us a lot of interesting information about the house and first hand experiences about working there. He was very knowledge-able and really brought the castle alive. As well as the Keep itself being a great experience, the museums on site ( including the archaeology digs) were a great addition, by not only talking about the Castle but how it fitted into the history of the local area.

All in all, Bamburgh Castle is a great place to visit for anyone, old or young.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

A family trip to the Castle and the Beach, good value family ticket for the Castle (especially compared to some other nearby attractions!) and free parking in the car park on the main road below the castle. I would definitely recommend this as a family friendly attraction.
