“Relaxing week in Northumberland.....”
Reviewed 2 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

After locating this rental, and exchanging pleasant emails with the owner, we had no hesitation to book the Belford Townhouse for a week's stay for my family which included 4 adults and 2 children. We found the house easily, in a very good location across from the Bluebell Hotel (very good Sunday dinners!) and about 100 yards from a decently-sized CoOp shop.
The house was very clean and, set over three floors, the entrance hall on the lower floor was a welcoming place to accommodate 6 of us kicking our shoes off all at once. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, and the living room was of a good size, plenty of seating for us all - these two rooms were on the middle floor. The three bedrooms were all located on the top floor and equally of good size - and very comfortable beds, which is unusual in a holiday rental.
The only downside to this house is that there's just one bathroom/toilet on the middle floor which proved challenging in the first couple of days with 6 of us wanting to use the toilet or shower, but once we'd figured out our timings, it wasn't such a big issue.
On the first night there, the Friday, we did have a little noise coming from the hotel across the road which wasn't too bad but not what we're used to. However, there were no issues any other nights.
The house is in a good location - there were 3 pubs in the vicinity to walk to on an evening, the shop just down the street, and a couple of playgrounds within walking distance along with the farm shop about half a mile down the road. The town is just off the A1 so there was easy access to and from the place, but no noise from the road. It was a good 10 minute drive to Seahouses and the other coastal villages, but the scenery was lovely so we didn't mind.
All in all, we had a really good week here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone considering staying here.

“Perfect house and location!”

We stayed at Belford Townhouse as a family for a long weekend. We absolutely loved the house and had a fantastic family break. We hadn't been to Belford before but were pleasantly surprised by the local facilities - shop, few pubs, fish and chip shop, nice cafe / farm shop (called Sunnyhills - very good coffee and lunch) with kids play park and small independent shops. It's only a 5 minute drive along the spectacular coastline down to Bamburgh for a great beach, castle and further restaurants and pubs (we recommend the beach directly behind the castle). The location is perfect, not far from anywhere - we went to Holy Island for a day trip which is only 15 mins away.

The house has a big entrance hall, (perfect for storing scooters!) with private parking area and a garden which is enclosed and seems to be a sun trap, even at this time of year. The property has been recently renovated and carefully furnished with an eye for detail - the owners had been in touch via email and text before and during our stay to check everything was ok. They had even left fresh eggs from their hens for us to enjoy!

We found the house was really well equipped (the kitchen even had cookery books) and was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The lounge is a grand space and has two large windows seats overlooking the village square. All bedrooms have stunning views from the top floors, and the twin room has a great selection of games and toys for the children.. Great place for hide and seek according to the kids!

We will hopefully be coming back for the summer hols or long weekend break, and will definitely recommend to friends and family. Thanks again!
