“improved”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2012

Have been here quite a lot while on holiday in Bamburgh (everyday for a coffee while I use the free wifi ) we have had several meals and a Sunday lunch and the the food has improved massively since Chico (new chef) arrived. Had chicken goujons and they were lovely and crisp on the outside and the chicken nice and moist inside, the cod goujons were the same according to my husband, we had steaks and they were of good quality and cooked to perfection. When quiet the young waitresses are helpful and obliging. Myra the head waitress can't do enough for you and makes the best hot chocolate. You will have to wait at busy times as food is cooked to order. The bar is dog friendly.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2012

Expected more and was disappointed to find that it was bar meals at restaurant prices. Noisy back ground music, perhaps because there were so few people in the place. Very slow service

“Eating out at the Craster Arms”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2012

We were in Beadnell for a week at Easter and decided to eat at the Craster as it had a designated dog friendly area. The food took ages to come and really wasn't up to scratch, it was a huge disappointment after having a fabulous meal at the Beadnell Old Towers the night before. Would not recommend

“Need to pull their socks up”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2012

My wife and I have been coming to Beadnell for many years and have always found the Craster Arms a warm and welcoming place. Recently a new young manager has taken over and done very well. He is very polite and willing and obviously wants to make a success of the business. We did feel he was being let down by his staff however - the waitresses he had working really do need to attend 'charm school' again as they weren't very polite and when I complained about my meal her response was "You are right, I wouldn’t have eaten that". Not exactly what we wanted to hear. A complimentary cup of coffee would have fixed the problem but we paid full price and no apologies were given by the manager or the chef who we could see from the end of the bar. The younger 'larger' waitress also managed to slide the cutlery off the plate whilst she was clearing away and nearly covered my wife's top in sauce! It was an accident but her attitude and lack of sincere apology made it an issue for us. The food has been average during our stay this time and it is a shame as they seem to struggle during busy periods. I suggest that they pull their socks up to keep customers from venturing elsewhere.
