“Lovely house in a perfect location”
Reviewed 4 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Great holiday home in the lovely village of Beadnell. Everything you would want in a holiday home was provided. Lovely to be able to walk to the beach and to be able to see the sea from the master bedroom. It would be a great house for a family to stay in.

“Lovely base to explore a beautiful region”
Reviewed 29 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

It was easy to book and pay for the property, and the owner provided straightforward instructions on key pick up. The house was easy to find and well located in the village for the amazing beach, which is about five minutes walk away. Clear instructions provided about how everything in the house worked and lots of info about local attractions. Wi-if provided that worked well throughout the property, which was useful as mobile signal in Beadnell is very patchy so it was good to be able to make wi-if calls home. The house has all the amenities you'd expect and is well equipped with good quality kitchen utensils and crockery, and lots of soap (dishwasher tablets, hand soap etc.) but it is worth noting that other basics (salt, tin foil, tissues etc.) are not provided so you will need to bring these from home. There is small garden to the rear, which gets the sun in the morning but sadly not for the rest of the day when it is on the front of the house. However, other people on the block seemed to sit out on the front, and I think that if travelling with children this would work well, as there is a large field in front of the property and a small children's playground at the bottom of another field across the street, which can be seen from the front of the house. The estate that the house is on seems to be largely made up of holiday homes, and as I visited out of season it was very peaceful, especially at night. The bed in the master was very comfy and there was plenty of hot water. The house was spotlessly clean upon arrival and felt very homely. It is about a 15 minute walk to the well stocked village shop and amazing local chippy (you must go!); a little longer to the pub, cafe and restaurant in the centre of the village.

“Home from home”
Reviewed 5 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Nice little cottage with plenty of room, equipped with everything a group might need and a less than 10 minute walk from the beach. We were well looked after throughout - a bottle of wine and biscuits were waiting for us on arrival and minor technical issues were dealt with swiftly. Lots of little touches made this a home from home.

“Perfect family seaside cottage!”
Reviewed 27 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

My husband and I and our two children (2 year old and 7 month old) enjoyed a lovely weeks stay in this cottage. It is very clean and modern and only a short walk to the gorgeous Beadnell sands. It was very well equipped and ideal for children with a great range of toys books and DVDS available as well as practical items including a travel cot, highchair and pushchair. Susie was incredibly helpful before our stay and we are looking forward to returning soon!!

“Excellent house and location”
Reviewed 8 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We have just returned from a relaxing long weekend in Cowry Cottage. This house is excellent and has everything we needed for our break. We are looking forward to returning in the summer. The beautiful beach is just a few minutes walk and we enjoyed a bit of rock pooling too.

A very well maintained cottage, clean and spacious. We had a great week and the weather was good. The beach is amazing and you can walk for miles. Lovely pubs in the surrounding area that take dogs.
Thank you we will book again.

“A perfect beach retreat for the whole family”

We stayed in Cowry Cottage between 27th Sep - 4 Oct '14 having been recommended highly by a friend. This scenario is always worrying, because if you dont enjoy the property, surroundings etc then your likely to resent the duff tip-off your were given.

I needn't have worried, right from the off I found the owner Susie to possess exceptional customer service skills and her communication throughout the booking and holiday was exemplary.

As busy working parents with 2 children (2yrs and 6mnths), we both decided that a trip abroad may be a stretch to far but wanted a break away from the house that we are all too familiar with now! The local area is beautiful, with a selection of 2 parks on you doorstep along with excellent fish and chips in Seahouses and fantastic beaches in Bamburgh (and all along the north east coast for that matter).

Plenty of activities (Train rides, pottery/arts, walks) to occupy little girls everyday within 40 mins drive or so, and even though it was on our doorstep, we still didn't have time to visit the beach in Beadnall.

The WiFi was excellent and was used to stream NetFlix and football matches through our iPad. Other facilities were also fantastic, with BBQ, comfy Sofas and all manner of games, books and DVDs already provided for guests!

The best compliment I can give to this house was like it was staying in a home away from home. Immaculate presentation and great layout mean't we have already booked up a return visit in 2015.
