“Two great days!”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

Had 2 fabulous day walks with Patrick, one on Bewick Moor and one over The Cheviot. Patrick has really got this guiding lark well perfected - he's knowledgeable, eagle eyed for wildlife, sorts out great routes and offers a flexible diary if he can, arrangements are easy, he knows the area well. I really recommend you go for a walk with him!

“Go here and fall in love”

The whole area of Northumberland is simply stunning. Lots of soft sand to walk miles on. Every corner you turn another beautiful sight to see. Without doubt one of the most beautiful places in England,I cannot count how often we have been there.

“First class experience”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

We recently walked the pilgrims way across the sands to Lindisfarne.
We has contacted Patrick by e-mail, and we received a very quick and comprehensive response.
Patrick met us as arranged, we were 2 of a group of 7.
The walk was fantastic, the pace was to suit everyone, Patrick was so informative, yet so relaxed, you felt that you were in the hands of someone very experienced and enjoying his work.
Patrick continued the walk around the island - after we had stopped at a lovely coffee shop!
We caught the bus back across the causeway at the end of the day.
A very memorable day, and amazing value.
Thank you Patrick, we look forward to using your services again.

“Fabulous Sunset”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

We were unsure whether our two boys would manage walking the Pilgrim's Way to Lindisfarne and back again but we needn't have worried, we all loved the experience. An early evening walk on Bank Holiday Monday, we set out with Patrick, another family of five and their two dogs. Patrick shared his knowledge with us and answered any questions we had as we walked along together. There was plenty of time to absorb our surrounding's and listen to the mournful cries of the seals. On reaching Holy Island, we put our shoes on and enjoyed a refreshing drink in a local pub before taking in stunning views of the castle, priory and lookout. Our walk back across to the mainland was truly magical as we walked towards the setting sun. Thank you Patrick for memories that will last a lifetime.

“A walk on the wild side - Newton Tors & Yeavering Bell”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

We are fairly experienced walkers but weren't confident about doing a very long walk further into the Cheviots. We found Footsteps online and picked our walk from a good mixed selection. Booking was easy as we just emailled Patrick. He replied telling us what boots/clothing, food and drinks we would need. We met Patrick at Wooler Common and had an uphill walk to Yeavering Bell then on to Easter Tor and Wester Tor. This is one of the best walks we have ever done, the views were 360 degrees and were totally breathtaking, we saw wild Cheviot goats and abundant birdlife. Patrick was really informative about the history of the settlements, local wildlife and flora and fauna. We were out for 8 hours, it was a spectacular day and experience. We are certainly looking forward to doing another walk with Footsteps - excellent value too.

Mant thanks
