We loved the Hideaway Hostel. I'd describe it as more of a budget b&b than a hostel. It's better than B&B because you can cook and save on eating out. It's an eccentric warren of a place and we never really worked out how big it was or the layout. Someone else described it as being full of owner's clutter. I wouldn't. It's furnished for guests like a home with books and films and all the kitchen equipment and crockery you could want. We had the use of a cosy shared lounge with wood burning fire. The breakfast is all you can eat and , though not 'full English' we were offered boiled egg and porridge. All with good quality local bread.
Joan was away when we visited but John was great, lending us an OS map for a walk.
