“The Finest in Farm Flavored Hospitality”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

Our absolute favorite lodging during our UK trip in May. The unquestioned best Full English Breakfast during our tour of London, Northumberland, Perth and Edinburgh. Be sure to notify the owners in advance if you prefer gluten-free - we didn't let her know of our daughter's preference until we arrived, but very shortly later she delivered a GF version of the delicious homemade welcome cake. The room was quaint and fabulously farmy, with a large and modern bathroom. The artwork throughout the B & B, produced by her mother, captures the local spirit of adventure & color. We enjoyed our walk along the old stone fence out to the marsh, and among the grasses out to the abandoned building. After 3 days in London, our visit to Northumberland was truly a breath of fresh air. If I were planning our trip again I would linger here at least two nights with a full day on Holy Island in between (we enjoyed only one very short but inspirational hour at Lindisfarne) Fenham Farm is a must stay!

I was taken here as a surprise by my wonderful girlfriend... and WHAT a surprise. Superb views, wonderful room and incredible breakfast. Add to this the excellent customer service provided by Walter and Gill AND niceties such as umbrellas (not needed), a slice of home-made cake and even torches in the bedside cabinets (also not needed, but what a brilliant idea) made this the perfect stay. Thank you so much!!!

Room Tip: From what we could make out... ALL rooms were excellent!

7 of us stayed here as a group on cycle ride from Edinburgh to Tynemouth. Fenham farm was perfect has big secure space for bikes. Beautiful rooms with amazing views of holy island. The breakfast was amazing and so much choice. The owners even offer lifts to and from the local restaurant which is a lovely touch. We also had home made cake on arrival on rooms which was for gorgeous.

Could not fault this bed and breakfast.

Beautifully done conversions, lovely decor. Friendly unobtrusive service. Excellent breakfast with loads of fresh fruit as well as attractively presented cooked breakfast. Loan of umbrellas. Books to borrow. Couldn't be better.

Room Tip: Curfew has best views, but twin beds.

Lovely set up with special touches like home-made cakes on arrival. Stunning location with views to Lindisfarne. Quiet and away from it all but plenty to explore in this part of Northumberland, so it is a good base. Breakfast got 10/10. Bedroom was a tasteful conversion of the 'smiddy', with plenty of room and a comfortable bed.

Room Tip: Curlew has sea views and a really nice king-size bed.

Fenham Farm is a smashing b&b. The room was in a converted farm building, modern, immaculately clean well equipped and spacious. The daily cake was in itself worth the trip! The generous and delicious breakfast is served in a cosy dining room by the cheerful and friendly owner. The setting is lovely with a superb view of Lindisfarne.
We stayed for three nights and were unfortunate with the weather, catching ex hurricane Bertha, but it didn't stop us enjoying the dramatic scenery of this coast.
Fenham Farm definitely justifies a five star rating.

What a fantastic stay at Fenham Farm. Our only regret is that we only stayed for a night!

We stayed in the Dunlin room which is the smallest room and was the only room available at the time, but was still very nice and comfy. Fresh milk in a flask with which to make our tea with more in the fridge in the dining room and nice fresh desert slices left for us in our room.

Our hosts Gill and Walter we're very hospitable and welcoming...an absolute delight after a day of driving and walking.

The location is very close to Lindisfarne Island and is a great base for some great walks on the island and along the coast. Would have explored the farm if we had more time!

Lovely breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on a muffin. Wide selection of fruits yogurt etc and an excellent way to start our day.

Bamburgh Castle is not too far away and is a nice way to spend a couple of hours. If you're driving further south along the coast then go to Craster and visit Craster Restaurant. They do the best kippers anywhere! Also a lovely coastal walk from the village of Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle.

An absolutely must stay if ever we travel the A1 on the way to Scotland.

Quality Bed & Breakfast accommodation on a beautiful coastal spot overlooking Holy Island in an area of outstanding natural beauty and of special scientific interest. The premises are old stone buildings which formed part of the original farmsteading. Converting the smiddy, cow byre and cartshed has created 5 spacious en-suite rooms that are independent of the farmhouse and have individual front doors so your space is your own. You will enjoy modern comfort all round and be kept warm and cosy by underfloor heating. Our location is idyllic with an ever changing landscape as the sea comes and goes with the tide. The farm is an ideal base for walking, cycling, and exploring the local area – particularly Lindisfarne and Bamburgh with their magnificent beaches, castles and rich history, and The Farne Islands – a haven for wildlife. Breakfasts are served in the farmhouse with plenty of fresh options and cooked breakfasts made to order using local produce.
