The apartment was the most well equipped holiday let I've ever stayed in, John has thought of everything, making it a real home from home. The location is perfect for exploring Berwick, and there is a good bus service if you don't drive but want to go further afield.
Special mentions go to the Grill on the Hill (West Steet) for a fabulous meal (booking essential) and the Slightly Foxed bookshop (Bridge Street) which is a treasure trove for book lovers.
John has a superb apartment here within the Elizabethan walls. Parking for the car was taken care of with a residents permit, and we could park outside the building. Very well equiped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The enclosed garden is a treat. Easy access to local resteraunts etc. Very good base from which to explore this part of the UK.
i would highly recommend this holiday rental. the owner was warm and friendly and the setting just wonderful. the house itself was very inviting and comfortable. we would not hesitate in booking again.
This was our second visit and it felt like coming home. The flat is very welcoming and comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. The extras John provides, fresh flowers and fruit are the icing on the cake... also provided. The garden is perfect and we would loved to have taken it home with us. John is always on hand if needed and is happy to share his extensive knowledge of the Berwick on Tweed area and the best places to visit.
This was our 2nd visit to Berwick upon Tweed and Oil Mill Lane Apartment. Everything was superb as always. We were lucky enough to get lovely weather. We hired a car this time around which made getting about a lot easier. Visited lots of different places - Paxton House, Chain Bridge Honey Farm, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Holy Island, Howick Gardens & Aboretum, Berwick Barracks and lots more besides. We would have liked to do more but unfortunately there weren't enough hours in the day. We are already planning our next visit in which we plan to visit the places we still haven't managed to go to yet.
John, as ever, was wonderful and is the perfect gentleman. Thank you John.
Enter through the door in Oil Mill Lane opens onto a paved patio. Walls covered in Clematis and plants, wild birds and above, a roof garden. This is the idyllic and peaceful property. Worth the four stars it has earned. This was a return visit and will not be our last. Leave the car parked up outside and GO WALK ABOUT ! All attractions can be reached on foot. The famous town walls, beach and pier. The river Tweed. K.O.S.B museum and if you need to go to Edinburgh for a day. The Railway Station is also within walking distance.
