We enjoyed our venture into Scotland from our Northumberland holiday base and Paxton House was a highlight. On a rare sunny day this summer, the garden and walk along the river were delightful. Lunch in the tea room was excellent - we enjoyed the pan haggerty as something new. Plenty of choice with the tempting cakes. Staff were friendly and helpful. The house tour was very interesting and the guide knowledgeable. A little more time to look around the rooms would have been good, especially the stunning picture gallery. Well worth a visit.
