Tried Fairways on Monday after reading the reviews and ended up going back for the rest of week except wed when it was extremly busy and we couldnt eat at our chosen time(we have16month old son whose not too keen on waiting). Must say food was fab, quick friendly service, easy on the wallet and beautiful views over the golf course and shoreline. We will def pop in again the next time we are in the area as we had such a lovely time dining there staff very friendly even suggesting some places we could visit with our son, we couldnt have asked for more luv luv luved it def has something for everyone. Fairways should def be on everyones to do list.

We have been trying a different restaurant in Berwick every time we have visited over the last year, in order to find our "regular". The fairways is by far the best all rounder to date, and I'm pretty sure this will be the "regular" of our choice! We were a party of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids. Myself and our son ordered off the menu, while the rest had a carvery! And we all had dessert! All the food was delicious and the service was excellent!
Including the cost of our 2 rounds of drinks (which have to be bought seperately at the bar) it came in at around £56, which so far, we haven't found anywhere as cheap for 4 of us let alone the extra child we had this time!
The only downside is we had to book in advance! We did try to just walk in last week but were told they had no tables! And also as my husband has become a member of the golf club there he was hoping for discount!
Overall, as long as I remember to go on Facebook and pre book, we will def be going back! Soon!

After perusing the menu whilst booking a tee off time I was taken aback with the choice on offer!
Should you be in the unlikely situation of passing the golf club it's well worth ignoring the rather unenthusiastic and underwhelming surrounding of the ageing club house and popping in to grab a bite to eat. The choice on the menu is quite simply superb. We attended as a family of four, each with different tastes and no one was disappointed. It has a comprehensive selection of Italian, Mexican, burgers, traditional and fish dishes.
Our choice of starters included prawn cocktail and skins heavily loaded with cheese, both very nice indeed.
Main courses were 2 x large pasta dishes with abundant chorizo and chicken, a fully loaded burger you had to half to even bite into and a 'bucket of fish' that included prawns, scampi and numerous pieces of beautiful white fish.
There was certainly no room for desert after this little food mountain...
There was only one item on the menu that wasn't available, the prices were very reasonable and the service was first rate as well.
Due to its location this isn't a place that you would routinely end up passing but it is well worth taking the extra few minutes from the town centre and going for a visit, the views of the coast from both the restaurant and the drive down to it will already make sure your starting with a smile on your face..

Where do I begin? We visited this "restaurant" under the pretence of it being very highly rated on this site. Well, I can only imagine the owners have been busy on their computers creating false complimentary reviews. We attended this shambolic excuse of an establishment when holidaying in Berwick under the misguidance of the positive reviews on this site.

Starters - Shockingly awful, soup was like tar, garlic bread was cold, wedges were almost still frozen, nachos were like a packet of crisps with all sorts of rubbish draped on top and barely edible.

On to the mains - this place had received good reviews for a burger of some sorts so a couple of us had ordered some, amongst other dishes, the other dishes were beyond poor but for now I shall focus on the 'burgers'. They were both ordered without relish, low and behold they both arrived laden with relish. We expressed our dissatisfaction and the fact our order was wrong, with disgusted looks upon their faces the staff removed these wrongly presented burgers stating the correct order shall be cooked fresh and presented as requested. Less than 3 minutes later, after waiting a lot longer first time round, the burgers were returned masquerading as a fresh presentation. Wonderful some would think? Not so much. These, upon having the basic ability to see things with our own eyes, were the same burgers with the relish scraped off!! I repeat, scraped off!! We complained and were told they were fresh!! So basically we were lied to to our faces, they then decided to admit they had no more burgers and thought we wouldn't notice. As I stated - Lied to!!!

In my opinion this "restaurant" was an absolute shambles, the night was ruined from start til finish. From the sour puss behind the bar that when asked for some drinks responded to us in a manner as if someone had urinated on her Christmas dinner, all the way up to the shocking standard of so called good food and blatant lies to our faces as if we wouldn't notice a botched order been cleaned up and presented as fresh food.

This site caused us to try this place, and hopefully this review I am writing will show people the true quality, or lack thereof, of this hell hole and make people think twice before reading what I can only imagine are the owners own made up reviews to drum up business.

So please if you are visiting Berwick at all and looking for a great place to eat I can give you only one suggestion. Body swerve this restaurant and treat yourself to a better meal, I am sure there's a McDonald's as you enter Berwick, and across the road from that there is the Meadowhouse where we eat 3 times in one week, slightly more expensive than the 'golf place' but worth every penny extra.
