I did a one day trip to the Farne Islands over five years ago and loved what bit of Northumberland I saw on the journey there and back. I couldn't stay over at the time because there was no-one catering for vegans but I was determined to revisit the area.
As soon as I heard about Loaf I knew I would have to come and stay.
I booked for two nights and also arranged for evening meals on both nights.
The house is amazing with an eclectic mix of old and new. It is a truly brilliant renovation.
We had the double en-suite which was fantastic. The weather was perfect so we had the huge roof windows open all night and awoke to the sound of birds.
A complimentary piece of cake was waiting for us when we arrived, which was a nice touch.
The food was good, especially the soda bread and pastry.
We were also fortunate enough to see Hartley the Hare.
Karen and Mike are lovely people and the B&B is perfectly situated for exploring the beauty that is Northumberland.More
