“A blissfully, comfortable and relaxing stay”
Reviewed 20 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

A wonderful apartment, clean, comfortable, and short of nothing that would be required for a self catering holiday. The welcome on our arrival was very kind and friendly, and also generous. Coming ' home ' to the apartment after a day out, sitting on the comfy sofa with a brew, and just looking out at the dock, is just what the Doctor ordered.
There is so much to do in Northumberland with beautiful beaches and countryside, and the individual shops on Bridge Street ( just over the old bridge ) are quality. If you are looking for a great place to have a tasty sandwich, hot chocolate, coffee or cake / scone, served with a friendly smile, then we would recommend 'Lowrys at the Chandlery', which is just over the old bridge, and can be seen through the window of the apartment.
Brilliant chip shop about 15 mins walk along the main road behind the apartment, going towards Asda.
Places we would recommend for a visit; Royal Yacht Britannia at Leith; Cragside house near Rothbury; Spittal sands ( 15 mins walk from the apartment ), and a walk along the pier to the lighthouse is well worth it for the views, and also for spotting seals.
Although the walk along the Berwick town wall provides a good insight into the history of Berwick, we would highly recommend that small children are kept on a harness and lead, dogs are kept on a lead and that older children are warned about the shear drops.
We would have no hesitation in booking this apartment again for future holidays in Berwick.

Hi Stephen,
Many thanks for your kind review. We are so glad you enjoyed your visit and managed to spot some seals! We haven't been to the Royal Yacht Britannia so we will take up your recommendation and go for a visit ourselves. Walking the walls is quite an experience, the view out to sea is breath- taking and it changes continually with the seasons. It is an easy walk on the very accessible tarmac paths and in our opinion not to be missed. Thank you again for your review. We would love to welcome you back for your next visit to Berwick.
regards
Keith and Louise

“Full of interest”
Reviewed 14 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The apartment is comfortable and attractive, and, unlike most rentals, has all the small items that you need for self catering. The owners are helpful and welcoming. The view over the port is always interesting, with the changes of tide, wildlife and light. Access to Berwick is a quick and pleasant walk, with great views along the river, and the town itself is well worth exploring fully for its history. The coast is lovely, and fascinating if you have any interest in geology.

Thank you for your kind review. As keen self caterers ourselves we have tried to think of everything guests will need. The little things like sharp knives, tea towels, plastic microwave bowls soon mount up if you have to go out and buy them so we try to provide everything you could possibly need. We are glad you enjoyed your visit and would love to welcome you again.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 29 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Fantastic apartment and views
Lovely welcome by the owners plus home made muffins cooked by Louise with Keith giving us an informative tour of the apartment
To be perfectly honest originally a little disappointing regarding the location as it is overlooking the port car park that the photos don't really show BUT and its a BIG BUT ... We found it fascinating, just great to see the comings and goings, we were fortunate to see a grain ship arrive and unload, no discernible noise from that and really quite at night which matters the most
We counted 218 swans one day including one black swan that made us homesick ( for Australia !)
So much to do locally the national trust property Cragside is a must the best so far (20plus properties)
One of our favourite locations and best equiped kitchen and rental apartments during our 3 month overseas adventure ... We will be back

Hi Bernie,
It was lovely to meet you both. We understand your original misgivings over the location as the apartment is on the first floor overlooking the small working dock. A port makes it sound much grander and busier than it is! The dock is an important part of the fishing economy of Berwick. The dock is not however a car park and only vehicles with business connected to the dock are allowed entry so cars are rarely parked there. However, the fascinating comings and goings in the dock of both fishing boats and wildlife are enjoyed by all of our visitors. As you mention the location is quiet at night. Glad you found the apartment to be well equipped and that you enjoyed all the local area has to offer. Cragside is lovely and well worth a visit at all times of the year. Many thanks for your kind review, we would love to welcome you back again.

“Magical view and all the home comforts”
Reviewed 29 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

A wonderful place to stay as from your armchair you have a magical view across the harbour, in a charming flat with all the little extras that make for a comfortable stay. Convenient too with a grocer and newspaper shop a stone's throw away and Berwick an easy walk across the old bridge, and secure parking on site . And it was lovely to be welcomed with fresh flowers, wine and cupcakes.

“First time in Berwick/Tweedmouth but hopefully not the last”
Reviewed 11 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Splendid apartment nicely furnished with a stunning view across to Berwick and the lighthouse. We were met on arrival by Louise & Keith who gave us a welcome pack and a quick overview of the apartment and the car parking arrangements and then left us to it. The shower is lovely and easy to operate with plenty of room . The sitting room has everything you need and is very comfortable (perhaps to comfortable with that View). We would definitely visit again.

“This property is a little gem”

We have just returned from a 3 day break at Four Mill Wharf. The property is superb. Perfectly situated to explore Berwick & the surrounding area.
The views from the apartment are stunning. Everything you could need is provided & the apartment is immaculate.
A welcome pack was very much appreciated, particularly the homemade cake. Thanks Louise.
We will certainly recommend this to family & friends & hope to make a return visit.
Kind regards,
Jane & Al

Glad you had a good stay and the weather was better than anticipated. Thanks for stripping the bed it is a great help when we get the apartment ready for our next guests. Look out for a picture of the welcome pack soon to be appearing on the site including the towel origami! I'm glad you enjoyed the cake as I know Al was looking forward to it. We would love to welcome you back again for another visit.
