No words could give this hotel justice. It is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff were wonderfull, the rooms wonderfull, (we stayed in a standard room so what the superior romms are like I could not say ) and the food was also wonderfull. Whilst it may be off the beaten track, transport links are excellent. We stayed for two nights and we would not hestiate to return time after time.

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a stay at the Collingwood Arms. We booked a package directly from their website which included 2 nights B&B with welcome bottle of champagne and a 3 course meal for the both of us for one of the nights for £260 all in. We had a fantastic stay and can't recommend the hotel highly enough. Our room ("Mars") was spacious and comfortable and the extra touches made it extra special - generously sized Molton Brown accessories, complimentary robes and slippers, fresh milk and bottled water from the residents' kitchen and flat screen TV with Freeview. The restaurant meal on our first night was so good that we ate there the second night too! The staff were all so friendly and helpful and I will definitely be recommending the hotel to all my friends.

We travelled to Northumberland to celebrate our wedding anniversary and booked 2 nights at the Collingwood Arms Hotel. We found this hotel to be absolutely 1st class without being too expensive. The room with luxurious fixtures and fittings was excellent and the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The food was as good as we've tasted anywhere (great breakfasts meant we didn't have to eat again until the evening) and we were fortunate enough to have good weather and therefore able to enjoy the beautiful garden and seated patio area - all in all, an excellent hotel. We will certainly return in the future.
