“A Gem Among Hotels”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

My wife and I stayed in the Sir Walter Scot bedroom state room on Saturday night and it was a special experience. A genuine large four poster bed with a large sitting room over loking the front lawn. We have stayed in all sorts of hotels of differing standard and we are both in agreement that Saturday was one of the best.
The warm welcome from staff and glass of wine on arrival to the open logs fires generate an immediated atmoshere of relaxation. Set in its own large gardens the hotel exudes understated luxury with an attention to detail. We gave dinner 9 out of 10, the beef medallions were beautifully cooked in a creamy horseraddish sauce, the chef made a special mix of garlic prawns and the beef for my wife.
The owners are especially fortunate to employ Shirley who is an amazing embassdor for the hotel. Shirley first served our pre-dinner drinks, our dinner and then breakfast the next morning a warm and charasmatic friendly person.
Thank you to all the staff we will be back

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for one of the state rooms then be surprised as we were!

A really excellent experience in a unique hotel on the borders with Scotland. Lots to do and see in the area and not least the visit to Holy Island which is just a half hours drive away. The room that we were in was on the top floor and as there are no lifts this would be a main consideration for guests who are not so mobile. The room that we were in was decorated in green which we didn't like but it was well decorated and clean. We ate in the hotel restaurant (there are no other establishments close to the hotel) and the food is excellent if not a little on the expensive side. Well recommended!

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a ground floor room if you are not mobile - no lifts.

This peaceful, graceful hotel is an oasis of calm which fits like the best pair of comfortable slippers ever! The warm friendly and professional attention given to us from all of the staff made our stay an uplifting experience. The food is superb and the restaurant manager Is a gifted professional lady with amazing people skills making each guest feel special and welcomed. All of the hotel staff members were so lovely and cheerful. The hotel is situated in such a beautiful area with the river Tweed running alongside. A blissful stay, thank you everyone at Tillmouth Park.

This is a fantastic gem of a place. Attention to detail in caring for people staying at the hotel is second to none. We were treat as valued custom as soon as we entered the hotel. The food both for breakfast and dinner was fabulous. We decided to eat in the restaurant each evening and were not disappointed, each meal we had was lovely and Shirley (Head Waitress) was genuinely caring and friendly as were all the staff. The room was spacious, the bed was large and very comfortable. Extremely quiet and as though you are in your own little haven, with a fabulous view of the extensive grounds. Definitely worth a visit and we are sure we will be back.

Room Tip: We had room 6 and this was a lovely room with good views.

We, my husband and I, stayed in this hotel for two nights. Found the staff very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much bother for them. This was such a relaxing break, breakfast was included and a complementary drink on arrival. The meals were very very nice. We were made to feel very special from the moment we entered the hotel.

Just back from our second stay at this fantastic hotel. We stayed for two nights bed and breakfast on a Groupon deal and had dinner in the restaurant both nights. The food at night and at breakfast was excellent. We stayed in room 14 the Yellow room and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left we felt like we were in our own home. The staff and manager were superb and Shirley in the restaurant was lovely, she remembered us from a year ago. A perfect base with loads to do around the area. It has a snooker room and plenty of space for you to relax in peace or you can have a few whiskies in the bar. Can't recommend this place enough. Thanks again and see you in the summer Tillmouth as we will be back!!

Room Tip: We chose the yellow room it has great views over the gardens and hillside. make sure you can get up...

We have just spent a noght in this lovely country house hotel through groupon, staff very very freindly but professional attention was brilliant food first class the view from our room was also out of this world looking onto the old castle and twizel bridge. Room had the larger windows ans i mean large came with a 4 poster bed can't believe the size of this place and only 14 rooms acres of land for walks around the estate as well as 5 minutes from river, in all the times we have been away never felt so relaxed shame we only booked 1 nights got to go back to do more. It's not a down side but something to think about phone signal on and off like a light switch they do have Wi Fi but is limited so if you want to get away and swtich off from rat race this is the place can't say enough the drive back to newcastle was long and slow

Room Tip: We were in room 7 this i think faces south west don't quote me on that but i think any room fron...
