“Ideal Chill Out”
Reviewed 27 September 2011

If you wish to have a fab relaxing weekend then there is no better place than Holy Island staying at the Lindisfarne Hotel.
Warm, welcoming and such a relaxing feeling made our stay superb.Having just got back from a Vegas trip it was just what we needed.
Jackie, Sean and Jack made us so welcome going out of their way to help. Excellent breakfast with unlimited beverages.
Rooms were beautifully clean and beds so comfortable.Look forward to our next trip.

We arrived a bit early as we were staying for one night only on Saturday night and wanted to make a full Saturday of it.
Sean met us and let us know the room wasn't ready but welcomed us in with an offer of a drink on the house, Sean suggested a beer as I wouldn't be driving. Good idea. Sean and his wife were very friendly from the offset, the whole place had a relaxed vibe, a perfect place for a chilled weekend away with immaculate clean rooms, excellent breakfast and friendly service all round. Plus ideally situated.
Sean was very informative and told us the best places to head.
The standards provided by Sean and his family only added to the visit to a lovely part of the uk.
Highly recommended, and I'll be going again.

I have never been to Holy Island before and I have to admit this was my second choice of Hotels, having googled the area. I booked my wife 3 nights here and when we return to the Island it will be our first choice. The owners, Sean and Jackie, along with Son Jack made us welcome from the second we arrived. This is not a big hotel and this added to the personal warm atmosphere we received all the time we were there. Great breakfasts and home made scones to die for. Don't bother offering money for the recipe, she can't be bought..... I can not recommend the hotel high enough.

This is a great place to stay if you're visiting Holy Island. It's located right in the middle of all the sights with easy access to them all. Our room was comfortable and clean. Sean the innkeeper was delightful and the breakfasts yummy.

We happened upon this wee Jewel in the Northumbrian crown a year or so ago. The Lindesfarne hotel offers five star accommodation with five star cheek and first class nonsense from the owner Sean.

He is always so welcoming, funny and kind. One of a kind and a true gentleman. Nothing is to much " of a bother" for this hotelier. He believes in the old-fashioned saying -" the customer is always right - that is - unless your wrong! The rooms are pristine, the service and breakfast fantastic. I am allowed room service in the morning - breakfast in bed!

We love it here and keep coming back - when we can get a bed that is!

We stayed here for one night on a road trip; I was travelling with my husband and father, so we had two rooms booked. On arrival the hotel cafe outside was very busy but the owner, Sean, was very welcoming and brought us a complimentary pot of tea whilst he got our keys.
In a nutshell, the rooms are really nicely decorated in a modern style, with lovely sash windows and views over the garden outside; it is a very clean hotel, and oh so quiet at night (we could hear Owls hooting whilst laid in bed). We ate dinner at the fabulous Beangoose Cafe as the hotel does not offer dinner. Breakfast was an efficient and delicious affair - really yummy and impressive.
We also ate lunch in the cafe outside before we left - the most delicious stotties and chips I have ever eaten!
The icing on the cake really was the enthusiasm and friendliness of the host - it was refreshing to see someone who actually seemed to love what they do, and conveyed this with a smile and lots of interesting 'catchphrases'!
We smiled a lot whilst we were here - the island is a haven of tranquility and I would certainly recommend this hotel wholeheartedly!

On arrival to this hotel, we were actually about 2 hours early, but were met by Sean who didn't mind at all that we had arrived sooner than expected. We were given a complimentary drink straight away, while he welcomed us to Holy Island and his B&B. We were made to feel very welcome indeed.
Hotel in a superb location on Island. Right at the beginning. Lindisfarne Hotel is a beautiful building with plenty of parking spaces. The owner Sean Is very polite, & friendly and quiet funny and definately likes a good chat. We met his wife Jackie, briefly ,once.
The room No 11 was a room for people with disabilities, so located on the ground floor near to breakast room/cafe which was open from 12noon upto 6pm. Also located near to our bedroom was toilets for the use of the hotel and the public when they were eating at the cafe. The room was wheelchair friendly, and so was the bathroom. good location for room for people will walking difficulities. The shower and toilet had an panic alarm button in case of any problem that may arise. So very well done to Sean & Jackie for thinking of customer's needs and not just mobile people. This room though can still be used for active people as well.
However we did notice a smell in the bedroom and in the bathroom, which did put us off slightly, but we didn't bother mentioning it, because we were only their 2 nights. Yes, we should of said something, but we took it, Sean that were were already aware of the problem and hopefully trying your hardest to sort it out.
Breakfast fine, and thankyou for catering for special dietrary needs i.e. Wheatfree/Glutenfree bread. Thankyou kindly for toasting our bread though. Various cereals & fresh fruit, toast, and hot options on offer.
Holy Island is a stunning, romantic, magical place to visit. Nice pubs, tearooms/cafes, gardens, castle, church, etc, etc, The most important thing for us was the peace and tranquillity it has to offer. Also when watching the tide come over the causeway is fantastic, and that is when you notice real peace , especially when all the visitors have come and gone. This is the most idyllic place that one can ever visit. This is our 2nd time here, and we think everyone should try and visit at least once in their lifetime.
Sorry Sean for not sampling your most tempting Stottie that you kept talking about it. It sounds delicious. When we come back again to Holy Island, Rich will certainly try it out.
Thanks again for your help and advise while staying on Holy Island

Room Tip: Room 11 is by the front door on the righthand side especially for disabled guests. can be noisy at...
