“fun in Holy Island”
Reviewed 13 October 2011

My husband and I stayed two nights at the Lindisfarne Hotel, on a relaxing trip to Holy Island. It was delightful, thanks to Sean the owner's great good humor, and his quiet, gracious son who helped him run the place. It is spotless and comfy, and homey. A nice place to enjoy the peace of Holy Island, especially after the day trippers leave the Island. It was my third trip back to this beautiful "thin" place, and I'll stay here again...very convenient to everything in the village, and a restful place to be after wonderful hikes around the island. Try the yummy lunch menu they offer, and the microbrew "Farne Island." Breaksfasts were full English and delicious. Sean upgraded us to a room with a luxurious king bed, and we slept like babies. A real extra treat: when you arrive you are offered a chance to kick back a moment with your favorite beverage (on the house) while Sean welcomes you and orients you to the hotel and surroundings. Loved our stay here! Thanks, Sean, Jackie, and Jack, from your Texan friends, Wanda and Troy.

If you wish to have a fab relaxing weekend then there is no better place than Holy Island staying at the Lindisfarne Hotel.
Warm, welcoming and such a relaxing feeling made our stay superb.Having just got back from a Vegas trip it was just what we needed.
Jackie, Sean and Jack made us so welcome going out of their way to help. Excellent breakfast with unlimited beverages.
Rooms were beautifully clean and beds so comfortable.Look forward to our next trip.

We arrived a bit early as we were staying for one night only on Saturday night and wanted to make a full Saturday of it.
Sean met us and let us know the room wasn't ready but welcomed us in with an offer of a drink on the house, Sean suggested a beer as I wouldn't be driving. Good idea. Sean and his wife were very friendly from the offset, the whole place had a relaxed vibe, a perfect place for a chilled weekend away with immaculate clean rooms, excellent breakfast and friendly service all round. Plus ideally situated.
Sean was very informative and told us the best places to head.
The standards provided by Sean and his family only added to the visit to a lovely part of the uk.
Highly recommended, and I'll be going again.

I have never been to Holy Island before and I have to admit this was my second choice of Hotels, having googled the area. I booked my wife 3 nights here and when we return to the Island it will be our first choice. The owners, Sean and Jackie, along with Son Jack made us welcome from the second we arrived. This is not a big hotel and this added to the personal warm atmosphere we received all the time we were there. Great breakfasts and home made scones to die for. Don't bother offering money for the recipe, she can't be bought..... I can not recommend the hotel high enough.

This is a great place to stay if you're visiting Holy Island. It's located right in the middle of all the sights with easy access to them all. Our room was comfortable and clean. Sean the innkeeper was delightful and the breakfasts yummy.

We happened upon this wee Jewel in the Northumbrian crown a year or so ago. The Lindesfarne hotel offers five star accommodation with five star cheek and first class nonsense from the owner Sean.

He is always so welcoming, funny and kind. One of a kind and a true gentleman. Nothing is to much " of a bother" for this hotelier. He believes in the old-fashioned saying -" the customer is always right - that is - unless your wrong! The rooms are pristine, the service and breakfast fantastic. I am allowed room service in the morning - breakfast in bed!

We love it here and keep coming back - when we can get a bed that is!

We stayed here for one night on a road trip; I was travelling with my husband and father, so we had two rooms booked. On arrival the hotel cafe outside was very busy but the owner, Sean, was very welcoming and brought us a complimentary pot of tea whilst he got our keys.
In a nutshell, the rooms are really nicely decorated in a modern style, with lovely sash windows and views over the garden outside; it is a very clean hotel, and oh so quiet at night (we could hear Owls hooting whilst laid in bed). We ate dinner at the fabulous Beangoose Cafe as the hotel does not offer dinner. Breakfast was an efficient and delicious affair - really yummy and impressive.
We also ate lunch in the cafe outside before we left - the most delicious stotties and chips I have ever eaten!
The icing on the cake really was the enthusiasm and friendliness of the host - it was refreshing to see someone who actually seemed to love what they do, and conveyed this with a smile and lots of interesting 'catchphrases'!
We smiled a lot whilst we were here - the island is a haven of tranquility and I would certainly recommend this hotel wholeheartedly!
