After a whirlwind trip to the UK from Australia, Lindisfarne and the Lindisfarne hotel stand out as a highlight for me. The booking process from so far away could have been 'tedious' but it was handled with patience and a sense of humour. My room and the breakfasts could not have been improved upon (evening meals also provided on request and were great value) and the friendliness of the owner operators was outstanding.

I stayed for 2 nights on Holy Island and Sean & Jackie were the greatest Geordie hosts you could wish for, and this from a southerner!. The experience was 5 star, comfortable en-suite room with everything you need, recently upgraded and decorated, excellent home cooked food from a limited menu but of gargantuan proportions and excellent quality (dinners by prior arrangerment) and hosts that couldn't do more for you.
Parking in the town, but you don't need your car as the Hotel is situated close to everything you want to see. Great stay, thanks Sean & Jackie

After a bit of a walk ,my mate John and myself were very glad of the hospitality at the Lindisfarne Hotel 5 minutes walk from the Abbey with it's own car park!
Sean couldn't do enough for you. Great having a chat over a few beers at the end of the day. Rooms were great and both a shower and a bath were available which doesn't seem like much but was very welcome.
Judiths breakfast next day was spot on with a very personal touch giving you a wide range of choices all cooked to perfection.

We were relieved to get off our feet at the end of St. Cuthbert's walk and this was the perfect place to do it. Centrally located with a great front living room, well stocked bar, huge rooms, helpful staff and very tasty breakfast, our favourite part was chatting with Sean, ever available at the front desk, and some of the other guests. As Canadians, we weren't familiar with the term Geordie - but learned very quickly, along with other colourful tales. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Lindisfarne Hotel, on Holy Island, not the travel lodge at beal who took the same name after refurbishment. Which I think reading reviews the two places are getting mixed up. The lindisfarne Hotel (not Inn) on Holy Island, is a fabe place to go. The new owners Sean and Jackie could not have been more welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, the food was great, real home cooking and good geordie portions, we couldn't have asked for better. We'll be back next year when hopefully the new owners will have completed their refurbishment. It should be even better again! Very clean, staff were great, really happy atmosphere, good luck to all in your new venture.
