Just returned from a weeks stay at Beacon Hill and would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone!!! There was 7 of us (6 adults and 1 child) and we stayed in Willow cottage - the purpose of our visit was for a family birthday. We all had a wonderful time - the cottage was extremely well equipped and very comfortable, we partiularly enjoyed lighting the wood burning stove which gave the cottage a homely, cosy atmosphere. The spa facilities are excellent and always clean and well maintained, it was never crowded, the busiest I saw it was on the last day when there was 6 people in total!!! Several of our group had spa treatments which are very good value and a nice little treat - Jean is lovely and gave a wonderful facial!!!
Would love to return here again as there is so much to do in the surrounding area - will be making another visit soon!

From the moment we arrived the owner (who is a bit of character) was on hand to show us round the property and the facilities, we even had a ride in the little buggy which my daughter enjoyed. The property we stayed in was Oak cottage which was stuuning and well presented. We have visited other cottages with other providers (almost 20 in recent years) and I have to say this was first cottage that catered for everything I didn't even need to use my own teapot or use my own wooden spoons! The views were great and we even saw a little red squirrel run by our cottage. If you get the opportunity visit the Harry Potter trail this is a wonderful experience! Have already recommended this retreat to others. Would love to come back soon, many thanks XXX

Holiday in Northumberland with friends (their idea!) What a great time we have had in stunning area. Not at all as I imagined with my deeply held southern prejudices. We were in Oak Cottage and woke the first morning to to see the sea on the horizon and a wonderful view from all the windows which we could not see on arrival as it was dark. Our friends had promised we would enjoy Beacon Hill but I was sceptical having stayed in holiday cottages previously but this was great. Very smart amd immaculately clean and everything seemed new. The beds were a touch firm for my liking but the rest loved them.
The Spa was wonderful; just like being in a luxury hotel. The local town had shops that I wanted to buy things from which was another suprise. We loved the art works in Tallantyres Gallery (?) and a great bookshop opposite was also a find.
I loved this holiday and I loved Beacon Hill and I loved Northumberland. We are going back with different friends. I cannot say more than that.

We stayed for a week with our 2 children at Beacon Hill Farm. We stayed in Elm Cottage, very cosy and comfortable and fantastic views.
Great facilities for adults and children alike; heated pool and beauty treatments were the favourites with tennis court and the Harry Potter trail through the woods giving great enjoyment too.
Morpeth and Alnwick in particular are only short drive, if you can drag yourself away....
Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break - you will not be disappointed.

Stayed in Merlin Cottage for a midweek break in November 2010..
This was our first visit.. and we were not disapointed...
Cottage was spotless, and had everything [and more]. that you could want/need for a self catering holiday..
The leasure facilities were first class.. we often had the pool/sauna to ourselves.. to be able to relax on the heated beds and watch the snow falling was luxury..
We plan to visit later in the year and bring the grandkids...they would love the indoor playbarn and games room... also the outside play area...
A lovely place for a relaxing family holiday.
