Another fabulous week at Beacon Hill. The whole location and environment is exceptional. Our cottage was extremely comfortable and very welcoming. The peace and quiet is amazing - a wonderful place if you want to get back to nature and relax. We had hares up close outside our cottage, a barn owl, brown owl, and woodpeckers feeding their new "baby". We walked down to Meg's lake again this year, what a lovely peaceful place. There are some wonderful places to visit nearby and plenty to do at Beacon Hill if you just want to stay and relax. We will be back!

Room Tip: Curlew has fantastic views.

We keep coming back, too many years to count but it is just the most beautiful spot for everyone. Teenagers fully occupied in cricket, swimming and tennis - hardly see them. Wonderful spa for the adults which you frequently have to yourself. The scenery is spectacular and what with the curlews in the field beyond and the hares running past the door it is glorious. We managed a few new walks from the cottage as well. We have stayed in the biggest and the smallest cottages over the years all of which are charming and equipped to an excellent standard. If coming back year upon year is not recommendation enough then we can add it is a place not to be missed.

It was our second holiday at Beacon Hill and we stayed in Stable Cottage which is one of the smaller houses but with the most wonderful view from the big picture window south across the valley towards Newcastle. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. We had our daugher and son-in-law visiting for a few days and were very happy about the dishwasher which saved the labour of washing up. The area is just beautiful and there are so many places to visit even for someone who grew up only a few miles away. We will certainly stay again at Beacon Hill on our next visit to the northeast of England.

Room Tip: All cottages are well equipped and furnished.

This was our ninth year at Beacon Hill Farm - testimony to the facilities, accommodation and the opportunities to relax either on site or further afield in the unspoilt countryside of Northumberland. If you wish to get away from it all this is an ideal spot to breathe in the country air right on your doorstep. Highly recommended.

These cottages are marketed as luxury and they certainly are. We went up for a holiday and as I used to live in Northumberland, to visit old friends and old haunts. The position of these cottages make for an easy ride up to the borders, south towards Durham, east to the fantastic coast or west up to Rothbury or into the Cheviots, not to mention the Tyne Valley. We stayed in Merlin a two bed, two bath cottage. It was warm thanks to underfloor heating but we could have lit the log burner if cold. It was very spacious, bright and very clean. Also extremely well furnished and equipped. Everything you could want including wine and home made lemon cake. Views were fantastic and an added bonus were the many additional facilities on site including a very well equipped gym, great indoor pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub etc. etc... Fantastic for a wind down. Only slight issue is access. I have a big car and the lane to the farm is very narrow and has many bends. You just have to be slow and careful. Will recommend it to anybody and will definitely be back

We had not been back for about ten years having previously visited on five or six occasions. We stayed in Ash Cottage which is very comfortable and well appointed as are all the cottages that we have stayed in. Lots of birds - those nest boxes have paid off. We spent a tranquil afternoon at Meg's Lake. The pool and facilities provide the perfect place to relax and there are wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. We use the cottage as a base to walk the coastline, visit places of interest, and enjoy the good restaurants of which there are plenty in the area. We look forward to our next visit - we won't leave it so long next time. Linda & Dave W.

Room Tip: We have stayed in the smallest and one of the largest cottages here and they are all excellent qual...

I recently went to Beacon Hill farm for some spa treatment. Val looked after me and did a great job, she very kindly took me a short tour of the facility and cottages. it's a beautiful place tucked away in the hills of Northumberland. I only live 20 miles away but considering a weekend rental with my family to enjoy all of the facilities and a restful time.
