“fantastic holiday for all the family, young and...well, older.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

We had a fantastic time at Beacon Hill, our first visit but hopefully not our last. We ranged in age from 11 to 74 and there really was something for everyone, We were blessed with fantastic weather and were able to enjoy all the facilities inside and out. We stayed in Beech cottage which has been recently refurbished and was very stylish and comfortable with great views out the large lounge windows. We used the pool every day and even though it was school holidays it was never crowded. The Grandparents showed their abilities on the tennis court and the table tennis table, not bad for crumblies! Alun and his family were so friendly and the attention to detail was superb. The Sausage sizzle in the woods on our last night with new found friends was particularly memorable and bought out the boy-scout in Grandad who created a great blaze that cooked tea to perfection. A fish was even caught in megs lake, another idyllic creation of Alun's..does this man ever stop!

We have been coming to Beacon Hill for the last 13 years and it has never disappointed us. Willow Cottage has stunning views and the accommodation works perfectly for our family of five. Our three boys love the outside facilities, the large swimming pool, campfire suppers in the woods and walks around Meg's lake. Not once did they miss the Xbox back home which is really saying something! A fantastic location to enjoy the simple pleasures of life in style and comfort.

From arrival, to departure a week later, this was the perfect self-catering experience. The welcome from Alun and his family, including an invitation to a BBQ, was warm and friendly with stimulating conversation and generosity. The accommodation (Curlew) is faultless, spacious and with long-reaching views. The facilities go beyond any expectation - spa (with an exceptional massage therapist), gym, tennis, cricket, croquet, football, great games room. And everything is included. Beautiful surroundings. Ideal for families - and for meeting other families - with a huge beech woodland to explore including fire-pits with grills and a treasure hunt. We loved it.

Super stay in well appointed holiday cottage. Child friendly - the grand children loved it. Looking forward to revisiting next year. Kids enjoyed the Harry Potter trail in nearby beech woods. The best appointed cottage that we have stayed in and w have stayed in a lot!

Absolutely fabulous place. Really great facilities with a perfect temperature swimming pool and jacuzzi, gym, kids playground and spa treatments. We had Elm cottage which was of very high quality, very clean and had everything you could want for your holiday. We also did the Harry Potter woodland walk which was great fun for all the family. You can have a BBQ in the woods if you wish too. Allun is a great host, very informative and welcoming and absolutely committed to ensuring you have a great holiday. There if you need him at any time of day but leaves you alone to enjoy your family time - perfect balance in my opinion. I can't recommend this place highly enough and we will definitely be returning.

This is the second time we've stayed in Merlin Cottage at Beacon Hill Farm and we've already booked for 2015! It's utterly gorgeous! Like a home from home! The cottage is very comfortable, spacious & well equipped & we particularly love having a BBQ on the private terrace overlooking the fields & sunset! The pool is fantastic & there is plenty for the kids to do (the play barn & games room are a HIT!) I loved using the gym in the mornings before the family got up & we all enjoyed the 'sausage sizzle' outdoor cooking! Highly recommended!
