Turning up at around 7pm on spec, we were slightly apprehensive when the ground floor bar was heaving with a young and lively crowd. However, going upstairs to a small, quiet lounge bar, we were offered menus and drinks by an extremely pleasant server. The menu was fairly short but some interesting choices, and the wine was very reasonably priced. Our orders were taken promptly, and we were soon shown to our table. The starter was huge, and enjoyable, and the main courses were also on the generous side, and pretty good. The room is comfortable, nice view over the river, and the service was really excellent. Prompt, friendly, professional. Good prices (frankly I think they need to reduce their portion sizes or raise their prices), and really no complaints. I suspect it may get a little full of young parties later, but it was a very pleasant atmosphere when we were in.
