“Very good experience”
Reviewed 8 February 2014

My first visit here and I was impressed by the place being spotlessly clean, and friendly staff who made us welcome. Lovely home made food, cakes and soups, the decor is a but old fashioned, some people may not like that. Overall, I certainly recommend a visit.

“Enchanting Tea Room”
Reviewed 8 February 2014

My friend and I popped into the Chantry Tea Room on a grey and windy day and it was warm and inviting! The menu is extensive and it all looked very tasty. We were there for a cup of tea and coffee and a piece of cake. We both chose scones; mine was the almond and cherry and was heavenly. The décor is very pretty with soft lilac, green and white shades used throughout. The perfect tea room!

“Top cakes”
Reviewed 26 January 2014 via mobile

Good stuff:
Lovely big slices of homemade cakes - spiced orange was the favourite! This is the reason to visit.
Tea served in proper china.
Pretty decor.

Only docked a star for the service - it wasn't busy but we felt a bit overlooked in favour of more regular customers, the waitress wasn't particularly friendly and we waited a fair while to pay our bill.

“Lovely food, great for vegetarians”
Reviewed 23 December 2013

We enjoyed a quick lunch at the Chantry Tea Room on the 21st of December. The food was delicious and tasted homemade. I had the lentil and vegetable soup with a cheese scone, which was both filling and very tasty. My husband had a festive turkey and stuffing stottie which was served with coleslaw and salad. We also tried two of the traybakes as we were by then too full for any of the lovely looking cakes on display - although we'll be back to try them another time. Our malteser slice and mars bar crispie were both delicious and served in generous portions. The staff were happy to advise on vegetarian options and very friendly. The tea room itself is quite small but very pretty and was nicely decorated for Christmas when we visited. Definitely recommended!

“tea room with charm”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

This was a most enjoyable place to have lunch. I would highly recommend stopping by here to any one visiting the lovely town of Morpeth. Friendly chatty staff even though it was busy, it seemed you were the only people in there. The meals were delicious and reflected the home baking ethic that we appreciate when travelling around. This was certainly a high standard yet inexpensive lunch. We hope to be back. luckily our friends live there and we have two excuses to go back!!
