Just returned from a 2 night camping visit. This site is in such a beautiful place! The surroundings are gorgeous.

On first arrival no one was at reception but on following the instructions the lovely onwer soon arrived and helped us to get sorted, even telling us about lovely walks.

There were only 3 pitches with electric hook ups, this could get cramped in high seasons, but we loved it. No one else was next to us and were situated next to the toilet block. (No smells or noise came from this)

No shops on site but again this adds to the beauty of it all. Facilities in the toilet block were modern and clean. However the washing up room i felt could have done with a clean (bird poo on some surfaces as it does not have a door). The showers were abit of a walk away and slightly cramped. They could have done with slight cleaning/redecorating but the hot water was always available! Plus free hair drying facility.

Overall this site is beautiful and the onwers are more than helpful and friendly. They are a credit to the site they have and we will definately be returning! Thank you :)

Thank you for the review and are really pleased that you would come to stay with us again.
We do live on site but are often out and about on the park checking and helping with people, chickens, piggies, ponies and the cows lol and try to get to the reception as quick as poss.
Just to point out that we have over 20 electrically pitches available and the 'bird poo' which we always endeavour to clear is just in the spring as the beautiful swallows who visit this time of year always want to build a nest in our kitchen area. We discourage this every year but it takes them a little while to remember that the kitchen is out of bounds!
Hope to see you again soon

My wife and I spent four wonderful nights in one of the wonderfully appointed chalets with an outdoor hot tub. Freezing cold going to the tub, magical lowering yourself into the hot water. Then there is the famous Kielder night sky where the stars are like golf balls. This is a treat that you just have to lavish on yourself. The owners are great and there is a lot to do and see within a thirty mile radius, especially if, like us, you like abbeys, priories and castles.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Osprey Lodge which was superb.

Brilliant camp site, ideal base for cycling. Shower block and facilities excellent and clean. There is a sheltered wash up place and also a fridge and freezer to store your food. Owners are soooooo friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Site is not far from Kielder Water and Forest Park which has some amazing cycle trails. Would def recommend to stay here it is fab. If you stay after May only tip is take plenty of mosquito spray. Going back at Easter and cant wait.

Just back from three night stay at the Osprey lodge. WOW! The view from the lodge is breathtaking - overlooking a river and beautiful woodland area with huge trees. The lodge itself is lovely. Very clean and beautifully furnished with co-ordinated plum and cream decor/soft furnishings. Gorgeous wooden floors. The hot tub is fabulous and very private directly overlooking the river - it doesn't get better than this!!!!! Lovely bark screening on one side gives total privacy. Luxury wicker outside furniture. Deck is fully enclosed so safe for dogs and young kids. Lodge fully equipped with everything you need, even tea bags, sugar, dishwasher tabs, which we've never had in other lodges. Fabulous walks on your doorstep - truly spectacular. Osprey and Goshawk are identical but I personally think Osprey is in a better more private spot. We are going to return in December this time without kids and dog!

Room Tip: If you want a two bedroom lodge go for the Osprey, it has the most private hot tub.

We have just spent a wonderful half term break with our 3 children & 2 dogs at Heron Lodge & enjoyed every second!
Our lodge was great and overlooked the pigs which was a great bonus for our children & the pigs as we spoilt them a little!
The hot tub was just perfect, we spent every evening under the stars & as it was quite chilly it made it all that more special.
The lodge was so warm at all times & beds very comfy.
We went on long picturesque walks everyday through the amazing surroundings, it really is a beautiful place with animals being an added bonus as they are so friendly.
The owners could not have been more helpful & friendly.
Overall we came home feeling refreshed, relaxed & sad to leave
Thankyou!

My wife and I stayed at the Goshawk lodge from Friday to Monday and we had an excellent trip, the area is beautiful, lodge had everything you need and the owner is really friendly. The hot tub was treat after being out all day (we were lucky as the football was on the tv and you can watch it from the tub). We will definetly return and would recommend to others.
P.S the pigs are really cool.

just back from staying at the osprey lodge Monday to Friday it is set in a stunning location with good facilities the lodge itself was perfect, comfortable, warm and clean with everything you could need or want the added bonus is the hot tub. The campsite is quiet and relaxing, you can go for fantastic walks into the forest The owners are very friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble even with a slight hiccup with the hot tub which was resolved immediately and he took the time the following day to make sure everything was still ok
we took everything we would need with us but if you run short of something there is a small shop about a 10/15 min drive away
only about 50 min's away from Newcastle's Metro Centre if you need some retail therapy :)
you can also enjoy the drive along the Forest Road to Keilder Castle and Keilder water with some excellent views
I found this holiday to be very relaxing ( that might have been down to the time spent in the hot tub ) I don't know where the time went it was over before we knew it
we will be back and would recommend people to stay here
