“Mother of the bride”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2011

We spent a comfortable, enjoyable, stressfree long weekend at the hotel for our daughter's wedding as Mum, Dad and Grandma of the bride. It couldn't have been better; not the service, the food, the rooms, the friendliness. I would thoroughly recommend Carol and Mark's hotel and thank them for making the wedding so very special.

We had our wedding reception at the hotel and it couldn't have been more perfect. The service from the staff and owners was outstanding, as well as the food. The incredibly friendly staff didn't mind my friends and family taking over the place for the weekend.
The main restaurant was decorated beautifully. After returning from our ceremony just over the border in Jedburgh, we were greeted with champagne and nibbles in the very relaxed and friendly bar. The food in the evening was amazing, although I was very disappointed not to be able to eat all of the desert as my dress would not allow it.
All of our group thoroughly enjoyed themselves and due to the whole atmosphere of the hotel a few said it was the best wedding they had been to.
Thank you Carol and Mark for helping make my wedding day out of this world, we will definitely returning on anniversaries if not before.

Stayed at the Redesdale Arms on a 2 day business trip. It is ideally situated on the A68. Arrived at about 5:30pm and was in my room within 5 minutes. The room was good with a view across the A68 to open countryside which would have been nice if it wasn't dark & wet. Ordered a meal and a drink in the Hotel Bar, both the meal and serice were good, absolutely no complaints. After a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed wentdown for breakfast where again the food and service were excellent. If you want a nice quiet comfortable Hotel awat from the rat race, close to the Scottish border with fantastic scenery close by I would recommend you spend a couple of days here.

Stayed for 1 night with my wife as part of the Groupon offer. Hotel is a bit out of the way but is very cosy and served very good food. Rooms comfortable and the staff very attentive.

Located near Otterburn an ideal place to eat and stay en route to Scotland or England - it is know at 'First and Last' near to Carter Bar. Lovely bar combined with dining area offering freshly prepared and good quality food. This hotel is good value with friendly staff.

Turned off the A68 into the kind of homely Brit hotel/pub warmth and comfort we found so hard to find on our three week tour of the UK. We ate and slept well, and even got served an undeserved breakfast when we arrived downstairs well rested at 10 am the next morning. Apart from the pub games, when a small team of locals politely looked the other way while my girlfriend bounced most darts point first onto the stone floor, the holy of holies in this technology backward country - free and fast Wi Fi access! Yes, I kid you not, no painful signing on procedures, exorbitant costs, or blank looks, just a regular service that we expect everywhere in Turkey for free, apparently at the exorbitant cost to the enthusiastic owner of GBP 20 per month. Surely even the lorry driver cafes can afford to serve that up with a full english breakfast! Basics spot on here. The perfect off season get away. There is nothing better than a snug UK pub with pint in hand and a warm fire in wild and desolate countryside. We will post you on our Facebook site.
