“Fabulous service, home from home, lovely family suite.”
Reviewed 10 April 2011

We have just had a lovely holiday with our three children staying in the family suite at this hotel and would be delighted to recommend it to others. It's the personal, caring service, which clearly understands the needs of families with children of all ages, which makes the difference.

The food was absolutely excellent. There are lots of nice place to eat in Seahouses but we chose to eat in the hotel every night because of the excellent mix of child friendly food and high quality adult food combined with the welcoming atmosphere.

I would recommend a family holiday in Seahouses based in this hotel to anyone. The harbour and the arcade are just round the corner and there's just everything you need in the town combined with lots of great places to visit nearby.

I hope you have as nice a time as we did. xxx

Date of Stay Friday 18th February 2011
We booked the hotel as an overnight stay to break the journey to Scotland; we arrived at the hotel at about 8.30 p.m. as we travelled after finishing work. A very friendly lady checked us in at the bar and they took us to the room. The room was warm, clean and a good size with a large comfortable bed, the en- suite was fully tiled, warm and clean. The bedroom had tea making facilities and a large bottle of water, the bathroom, soap, shower caps etc.
Food was being served but we did not partake but it did look very good and was quite busy for a windy, rainy February night. The bar is well stocked and not overpriced with friendly staff and a good warm environment, the customers were very friendly and we had an enjoyable night.
After a comfortable night we had good breakfast in the restaurant, (you can order your cooked breakfast the night before with a time, to save waiting), with a good selection of cereals and fruit juices. Good breakfast, served by a nice you lady. You also pay your bill to this you lady before leaving. We had a very enjoyable stay and will try and book again when travelling to Scotland and would book for a break away.

We stayed at this Hotel as a party of eight on a overnight stay - four couples. What a fantastic stay we had, we arrived around 3.30 pm in the afternoon and found our rooms ready and waiting. The rooms were extremely clean and well proportioned, they had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. After sorting our bags we headed straight to The Ship Inn, where a warm welcome awaited us - it have a 'real fire'. After a couple of drinks we headed back to the Hotel where we then had a drink in the bar before going to our rooms to change for the evening. We all met back in the bar at 7.30 pm for another drink before going into the restaurant for our meal. What a truly fantastic meal we had, lots of choice, and we did all choose different meals, the whole party said they thoroughly enjoyed every course - the portions were 'big', dare I say too big. Value for money was certainly not a problem and the giant portions did in no way affect the quality of the meals served. After the meal we all went back in the bar where the girls chatted and the guys played pool. We all said we 'would never eat again', but surely enough in the morning we all ordered the full english breakfast and managed to do it justice. Choice for breakfast was good, i.e. fruit juices, cereal, toast, a variety of cooked meals, tea, coffee etc. The hotel was fully booked, and included a party of 8 girls on a Birthday Night Out and they also said their stay had been fantastic. To top it all the weather was very kind to us and we even managed to have a lovely walk around the town and along the harbour. A jewel on the beautiful Northumerland coast. Well recommended!

I didn't stay at The Links, but I ate there four times, four main course fish dishes, all delicious and good portions. The staff were very friendly. I booked a table on 3 nights, and although I was alone, they always kept me a nice table in the bar, and the last 2 nights they poured me a red wine as I walked through the door!

Stayed mid Sept 2010 Friday and Saturday nights.

There is a small car park but I had no trouble getting in. Check in/out was easy.

The room was above average size, with kingsize bed it was clean and well maintained. All the usual features, TV, kettle etc as well as 3 lamps writing table and alarm clock.. Bathroom clean, light and well equipped. 2 minus points for my room were that I looked straight onto the main road, which meant I had to keep the blinds drawn for some privacy. Also I was above the bar so got some noise, though not overly loud it could disturb light sleepers till closing time.

Breakfast was very nice with lots of choice. I also ate there both nights and can say the food is fabulous. Book early though as everyone else knows the food is fabulous too. I had a pack-up one day which was good quality too. Highly recommended just for the restaurant.

The staff were friendly and efficient.

I was diving this weekend and the drive to the harbour was no more than 2 minutes with all day parking on the harbour wall for £4. Plenty of room to unload my heavy kit. At most it was a 5 minute walk into the village.
