Three of us shared the cottage for a week. we found the location in North Sunderland great as if gave us 3,000 extra steps walking into the harbour area for provisions and our evening couple of pints at the Ship Inn. Kitchen well stocked and plenty of room in the lounge. Parking safely off road although more free parking out the front. Headroom a bit limited in the en suite shower.
The Old Granary proved to be an excellent base for exploring the Northumbrian Coast. We found comfortable and modern facilities which met our high expectations. It is located well on the edge of the village, within easy walking distance of the centre which offers local shops. Good, hearty food at the old pub near the harbour and the artisan pizza restaurant on the High Street. The property owner sent clear instructions and provided a welcome gift on arrival! Also, a booking dates change was resolved in a friendly and helpful manner. Without hesitation, a 5 star review.
Just spent a lovely long Easter weekend at this fantastic cottage. Everything catered for which is sometimes a challenge with a 12 and 4 year old - Sarah has it all covered! Xbox, to lego, to a little Peppa pig toy playhouse. We even played draughts!! Kitchen is equipped with everything you need, comfy beds and cosy lounge. The en-suite shower is small but Sarah is very open about it and my 6'3'' husband managed just fine, for anyone who might be concerned. It's perfectly situated, nice and quiet with Seahouses centre just down the road. Beautiful area to visit, we will definitely return to The Old Granary
We've stayed in Northumberland a number of times before and must say this is definitely the best of the lot. From opening the door the place was welcoming and homely. Everything you could wish for was available. I especially loved the living room on the first floor, so relaxing and didn't want to venture out at night. Sarah is so helpful and put me at ease, as was worried about taking our puppy with us- she loved her holiday home too. The cottage is a short walk into Seahouses, which has pubs, take aways, a co-op but most importantly an amazing view of Bamburgh Castle! Already checking diaries to see when we can go again. Thank you Sarah for sharing your beautiful home, and owls, with us.
We really enjoyed our stay at the old granary. It was cosy and clean. The children loved all the toys and games and Sarah couldn't have been more helpful.
We really enjoyed this comfortable, character cottage. Lots of attention to detail to ensure the comfort of the holiday makers. We really appreciated the chocolates and fizz on arrival. Only slight difficulty was the rather small shower.
