“A lovely cottage in a great location”
Reviewed 29 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

This cottage is in a great location, near to the beach and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The cottage was clean, tidy and well-equipped. It had plenty of room for a family of 4 and included a selection of games, books and DVDs. Seahouses is a lovely small town with a supermarket for basic needs and a selection of restaurants including 2 Indian restaurants and 2 Italian as well as a Chinese take away and several fish and chip places to eat. It is in a great location to visit the Farne Islands, a boat trip can be booked from the harbour, which is a 15-20 minute walk from the cottage. Bamburgh castle is only a short car journey up the coast and it is roughly 20 minutes in the car to Alnwick castle. I would definitely recommend to others.

“Great location close to beach”
Reviewed 11 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

The location is great - the beach is down the street!

The cottage is excellent for families. Had everything you needed. In the lounge there was a bookshelf with lots of DVDs, books and games. Also some colouring pencils to keep kids happy.

The kitchen was open planned with conservatory and dining area, which was very nice. Washing machine was very useful. Outside had a lovely garden, at night time you could see the lit up lights round the tree & the garden. They had a washing line.

The beds were all comfortable.

On arrival had a lovely, thoughtful bottle of Wine & chocolates waiting for us in the fridge.

Had a lovely relaxing holiday, and the house was very comfortable and homely, would definetly recommend to family & friends.

Thanks Chris W for letting us stay in your nice home.

“Highly recommended!!”
Reviewed 24 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We have just returned from a long weekend staying in Bluebell Cottage and can't recommend it highly enough! The cottage is in a great convenient location for Seahouses and walks to the beach. Well equipped with everything you need and more even down to dog bowls and dog towels! The owner Chris very kindly left chocolates and wine for our arrival which was a lovely touch. The weather let us down but despite the rain we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home from home in a beautiful part of the country. We will most certainly return if you will have us! Thank you again.

“Very Comfortable and Ideally Located Cottage in a Most Part of England”
Reviewed 9 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Northumberland is such an interesting part of England. A great plan for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. A town with such a quirky name is a natural tourist drawcard, and then you find out what's on offer in the surrounding area.

Bluebells is a very comfortable cottage not too far from the main centre of town with just about everything we needed for our stay. Our only disappointment was that the description said, "Linens provided" but there were no towels, this needs to be clearly stated. As overseas visitors we don't carry towels and have never encountered this at any of the properties we have rented. There was a box with some old clean towels provided for dogs which we used as we had nothing else.

This aside I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bluebells as a comfortable place to stay, as long as you bring your own towels.

I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Bluebells despite the lack of towels. It does say in the description that linen is provided however towels are listed separately and that they are not provided. But I do take on board what you say and will also mention in welcome message.
Thank you for choosing Bluebells and we would love to invite you back anytime

Bluebells cottage is lovely ☺it is extremely well equipped and a great location for exploring Northumberland. We had a great holiday visiting the beaches, Alnwick castle (where you can fly broomsticks!!) and had a fab boat trip round the farne islands. The cottage has plenty of room for 5 people and the garden is a real sun trap in the afternoon. Thank you Chris for letting us use your lovely cottage, and the wine and chocolates were very much appreciated!!!!
