“Anniversay Break”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

in desperate need of a relaxing break away in our favourite area of the country, I was delighted to find that we were able to secure a short break at Fenton Hill Farm Cottages. From the first initial contact email with Margaret I was impressed with the friendly service and reasonable tariffs...and when we arrived it quickly became clear that we had made a good choice. Excellent accommodation, everything provided that we could possibly need and just enough helpful advice and care show from the owners to allow us to 'kick back and relax' Back to the 'rat race' and already looking forward to our next trip, will take the elderly parents next time as confident that they will be comfortable and welcomed.
Many thanks to Margaret and Hugh

We booked three cottages for recent a family weekend. The cottages are fantastic, really cosy, very well equiped and in a stunning part of the country with the backdrop of the Cheviot Hills. Within thirty minutes drive are Berwick Upon Tweed, Holy Island, Bamburg Castle, Seahouses and Craster, they are all very worth a visit. We were lucky with the weather, which was sunny and cold but even on a cloudy wet misrable day it would be great to be sat in the front of a roaring real coal fire, which each cottage has. If you are in to star gazing, this is a great place with pitch black nights, brilliant! Overall, a spectacular place, highly recommended! We'll be back!

My hubby and I had a wonderful hideaway weekend in the beautiful comfy Elderberry Cottage.
Fenton Hill is a truly special place to us and we love to be here.
The warm and welcoming hosts are second to none and the cottages are just gorgeous.
Stunning views to wake up to each morning and a cosy fireside to curl up in front of !! What better way to hide from the hustle and bustle of daily life ??!!

Room Tip: They're all gorgeous !!! some have spacious family rooms too !!

Just back from a wonderful retreat weekend at Fenton Hill Farm Cottages. Beautiful facilities and felt the attention to detail and finishing touches offered by Jen, Hugh and Margaret was really special. A peaceful scenic haven with easy access to walks, Cheviots, Holy Island and Northumberland/Scottish borders. Thank you so much for your superb hospitality and service. Looking forward to the next return visit. Joanna XxX

We wanted to explore Northumberland a little more, having been coming to stay with friends in Newcastle for decades. We certainly found a wonderful location in Fenton Hill cottages-the peace and tranquility they offer was delightful. We stayed in 2 bedroom Bramble and our friends came to stay with us for a change! The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable with beds already made-up for our arrival (a blessing as we were quite late arriving after a long drive) and towels and toiletries were provided-also a nice touch. The kitchen was very well appointed with a walk-in pantry that had extra storage and equipment as well. Another lovely touch is the birdfeeders outside the living room windows, we were regularly visited by woodpeckers and many other birds. Fenton Hill is an excellent location to travel to many of Northumberland's beautiful places inland and on the coast. Hugh and Margaret are lovely, genial hosts, and youngsters are bound to love the pet pigs, goats and Bumble the donkey who share the farm too. I would definitely recommend the cottages to anyone wanting fresh air along with beautiful views and peace and quiet.

Location perfect-fantastic views and lots of walks can be done from the doorstep. 25min drive from best beaches in england and 10min drive into nearest town. Cannot recommend enough. Excellent for all age ranges!

We stayed at a very clean spacious cottage (elderberry) ideal for families looking for a place to relax and unwind. Feeding the donkey and pigs was a great way to pass the time and we loved seeing the pigmie goats - they are just so cute- we all miss them already! A good base to explore beautiful northumberland - I would recommend visiting Bamburgh castle beach and holy island.
