Cheviot View Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #16 of 18 Wooler B&B and Inns
Reviewed 10 June 2014

Stayed here one night whilst walking through the area.
Good central location. The owner was very welcoming and friendly.
Our room was large and well appointed. Likewise the bathroom.
We were on street level and hence couldn't open the blinds or windows, a minor problem for one night. Street noise commenced at 7am.
Breakfast was adequate.
Would recommend only for a short stay.

Room Tip: Go for room upstairs. Quieter.

The sign read Scottish Tourist Board 4 star, but we did not think it was worth this number of stars. Bathroom downstairs was not very clean. Breakfast was not too good. Owner was friendly, location is fine.

I stayed at this B&B whilst on the St. Cuthbert's Way, and I found it very convenient all round, friendly welcome, a huge room (with generous heating which was great), and a generous breakfast. I stayed there on a Saturday evening in the room on the ground floor and didn't have any problems with late-night revellers that other reviewers have reported. I was glad to have such a centrally-located B&B because there were shops and cash points nearby, as was a very nice Italian restaurant. I also liked the little box of chocolates on the mantle piece.

We received a very friendly welcome on a very sunny afternoon so our group of 6 walkers was not dripping wet for a change!
The rooms were spacious and clean and comfortable and there was a small box of chocolates in each room which was a very nice touch.
The cooked breakfast was good although the owner did not seem to like making porridge which is de rigeur for walkers especially on the Scottish borders! It was also surprising that, apart from a few bananas, the "fresh" fruit was prunes and tinned peaches - rather reminiscent of tea after Sunday School in the 1950s! As the Co-op was opposite it would have been nice to have been offered a better choice of fruit.

Friendly and welcoming. Clean and very spacious rooms. Lovely breakfast. (We struggled to find good food in the village, and late-night revellers can be a little lively at the weekend, but that's Wooler for you!) This B&B is well recommended.

Last june we visited Cheviot View during our cycling trip through Northumberland with our 9 months old daughter. We had a perfect clean room, a very nice host and e real good breakfast including fresh fruits and homemade marmelade. We really loved it.
