“such a perfect day”
Reviewed 28 August 2014

We had our wedding at Mansfield Manor last weekend, all of the staff particularly Kim the wedding coordinator helped to make our special day so perfect from start to finish. All of our guests praised the way in which the wedding room and the dinning room were presented, both the wedding breakfast and the evening buffet could not be faulted. This is a venue which we would highly recommend particularly for small to medium sized wedding.
Diane, Paul and Kim we can not thank you enough.

Hi Michelle.

Sorry it has taken a long time to reply. Things have been hectic here recently.
On behalf of Diane, Paul, Kim and the team I would like to personally thank you for your kind words. We are currently doing Sunday lunches between 12.00 - 16.00, and other Christmas events, so why don't you both come along, have some lunch, a glass of wine, and a good catch up.
we look forward to hearing from you both soon.

Kind regards

Daniel Millar

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting, in the heart of Mansfield. Accommodation excellent very spacious rooms clean and in good decorative order. Staff very friendly, helpful and polite. A Luxury hotel without a luxury price tag. Excellent value for money. Would definitely stay here again.

We went to a wedding here last week the bar staff were very rude and seem to be on some sort of power trip demanding ID for our 21 year old nephew and 20 year old daughter who very much look their age so take ID for all adults if you are having to undergo the unfortunate experience of going to Amityville. Poky dining room and wedding room both are well in need of a makeover. Good points are all on the outside ie the view and the Patio area that's it!! I don't normally write this sort of thing unless it is true so please don't think I am just a disgruntled customer through being refused under age drinking!!!

We take the law and underage drinking very seriously here. Your daughter was aged around 13 years old and was seen by one of our bar staff drinking a bottle of Rekorderlig cider. Our bar staff advised that this was not allowed. You admitted that she was underage and shouldn't have been drinking alcohol. However, you became very abusive to our staff, requiring the owner to talk to you about your inappropriate use of very foul language - not only towards our staff, but in the presence of wedding guests and children, in the early afternoon of your friend's wedding. You were warned that you would have to leave the premises if there was any further incident.
We use the PASS challenge 21 scheme, rather than challenge 25. This is the Your son did not look 21 and so was asked for ID. He could not provide this and so was refused alcohol. Most young people are aware of challenge 21 and carry ID if they wish to purchase alcohol. I would advise your son to obtain a PASS card http://www.pass-scheme.org.uk if he does not have a driving licence or similar ID. Once he has ID, he will not need his parents using offensive and threatening language to get him a pint!
For information - The UK’s national proof of age accreditation scheme, PASS, is endorsed by the Home Office, the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and the Trading Standards Institute (TSI).
This is from the PASS website: "Whilst the vast majority of retailers and pubs support the PASS scheme and include reference to it in their company policies and procedures, it is important to understand that front line staff are encouraged to refuse admission and/or service if they are in any doubt whatsoever about a person’s age. Increasingly tough enforcement of legislation to prevent selling to under-18s means that there is very strong pressure on operators to refuse entry if they have any grounds to believe that a person is under 18, regardless of the form of ID they present."
Incidentally, I notice that all 5 reviews that you have left on Tripadvisor have been terrible. It must be difficult to find suitable accommodation. Just saying...

Our son and daughter-in-law got married here 9/08/2014. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed over night and the room was beautiful, with everything we needed. Great food at the wedding reception and a great breakfast. Thank you to everyone for making the day and our stay great xxx

Room Tip: ask for a room overlooking the park.

Just stayed here for one night.
Plus points :- the staff we met were very nice, the room was a great size and clean, the shower was excellent and the breakfast was lovely.
Minus points:- there was absolutely no hotel information in our room re. check out time, breakfast hours etc.
As I've said breakfast was lovely, but it finished at 9am! That really is far too soon.
