This is a lovely well kept park and I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that the showers let it down . They were clean and well kept but what a pain to have to keep pressing a button to keep a flow of water .The staff were friendly and helpful and the shop well stocked and has good prices , we will go again ,it was good for our grandchildren and has a wonderful dog walk which goes all round the site .
Excellent position near park, kids loved it and good for riding bike around and scooter.
Tried to walk to sherwood pine but got lost but I'd walking distance 1/2 hour.
I was scared of the water but kids never bothered until last hour!
The campsite is stunning and very well kept. The facilities are great and very clean. Our pitch was brilliant and very private.we had a great time with walks in the forest right on the door step. The staff were friendly helpful and very accommodating

children play park at back idea for granddaughter but so quite after ten clock was just so relaxing place to be lovely dog walk car boot sale not far away sunday there also small railwrail for children u can walk to it we going back bank hol august would recommend
the site is excellent in layout and maintenance and staff very helpful the only down side for us was the continual calling all night long of the Peacock or some other bird which was a real pain when you woke up for the loo it was hard to get off to sleep again.
We stayed at Sherwood Forest Holiday Park across Easter bank holiday weekend in April 2017. We have never camped in this part of the country before so we did not have a site in mind. i literally googled excellent campsites near Sherwood forest, and this was the first one. after some research we booked and i have to say the campsite did not disappoint in any area.
The pitches are a good size, our folding camper is large ( 6m by 5m with awning) and fitted really well with plenty of space for the car and for us outside. we had an excellent pitch in Cedar number 148, a larger corner plot. Cedar is a great area; we were traveling with our 5 year old daughter and after a settling in period we were happy for her to go back and forth to the play park on her own. for those that have seen the river on the map, handily the entrances to the park have be placed on the non river side so we weren't concerned about her disappearing off!
Position of this pitch was great as it offered the option of 2 different shower blocks.

The shower blocks were immaculate each time i used them. i believe this is partly due to the site cleaning them but also to the respectfulness of the sites users. my only complaint about the shower block in the center of Cedar was that to access it you have to walk across a grasses area; the slightest bit of rain causes mud and thus the floor on this block was a little dirtier. this could easily be resolves with two gravel paths, but not a big issue. my husband found that many of the push showers had a very short push on them which he found quite frustrating.
The site shop was fantastic, it offers an amazing range of product particularly for caravan / camper / tent maintenance. any everything was very reasonably priced.
there are a wide range of shops locally including a large asda.
Overall we would most definitely stay here again, it is a well maintained site, the pitches are great, the facilities and staff are wonderful.
