Certainly not up to 4star standard. Room clean and good size batnroom, unfortunately extremely hot during stay and there is no fan or air conditioning in the rooms. The breakfast was very mediocre, one got the impression the accomodation was all self catering at one time and they introduced b&b as an after thought as it is served and cooked in a glorified shed which when we stayed was too hot.

The friendly and likeable staff in the breakfast room appeared to be struggling with the volume of work which impacted on the quality of the food. We were in room 3 which is too near to breakfast room and were woken at 6.15am by voices and general clatter.

The facilities need up grading to meet 4 star standard.

Room Tip: Dont have room near kitchen/dining room as very noisy in the morning

The room that we had was clean, comfortable and equipped with microwave and a good range of china and cutlery. Dogs are made very welcome and even a dog bowl and blanket is provided. It is an easy walk into Abingdon and down a lane to the River Thames. The staff are attentive and breakfast is cooked when you arrive in the cabin. The plastic tablecloths and 'cheaper quality' ingredients bring down the overall experience a bit but it is still good value for money. We will return and a book a self-catering cottage.

Excellent place to stay if you wish a peaceful setting but near to the town as well Down a small country track but good driving manners helps avoid mishaps
Clean and well stocked with all you would need for a S/C holiday It even had a washing machine which was a good touch
The swimming pool is great place as it's all yours for an hour and delighted our little grandson as there were no other splashy kids and it's free
We will return

Room Tip: All cottages seemed clean and comfortable

Just outside Abingdon a short walk along the drive and then over the bridge and you are in abingdon, my stay though did not go as smooth as it should because of a previous guest which meant that my stay was cut short not due in any way down to the owners who went above and beyond the call of duty to find me accommodation for my second night away I would definitely recommend kingfisher barns for a short stay holiday as there is so much in the area to do.

Ten minutes walk from Abingdon, Kingfisher Barn is a great location and has a lovely rural feel to the place. At a reasonable price and after reading some other reviews I had my concerns......No worries at all, a very professional down to earth team of staff answered all queries.
The room was clean and spacious with a good size bathroom and breakfast was cooked fresh as we sat there, a really enjoyable stay.

Great location, professsional staff, good food at a reasonable price...what more do you need.

Advertised as a four star - not so in my opinion
Rooms dated and in need of refurbishing but clean and comfortable. WiFi free. Bathroom spacious and clean. Bed light did not work. Room well lit but cannot turn individual lights off - all or nothing. Car park long way from room and not secured apart from a CCTV.
Substantial English breakfast served in breakfast room. Just OK - average!
Convenient close to town - where there are any number of pubs and restaurants

Stayed in the cottages for a couple of nights with friends as a hen party. Excellent for our purpose as it accommodated everyone and was a very social environment. Quite remote so didn't disturb anyone (also meaning that this would be a quite place to stay)

Didn't have breakfast, had self catered but everything you needed was there i.e. pots pans, cutlery, dishwasher etc.

Would recommend to anyone, I can see it being a lovely place to take a family.
