After a trip to the Earth Trust we decided to pop into the Plough Inn at Long Wittenham. Though the car park is a tad small for the amount of people that turned up (get there early folks) the garden is huge, so in summertime this place will be full. It had a great outdoors, and with three kids in tow the playground area, swing and big garden was a saving grace for the kids to run and scream whilst not annoying any other clientele. We ordered a Sunday Roast, and they do cater smaller portions for children and also have a gluten free option as well (well done). The food came out very quick, we decided to eat outside as the day was nice and sunny albeit a little chilly. The portions were good already and the cauliflower cheese was delightful, though for me the beef (Aberdeen Angus mind you) was too rare for me - again just personal preference. The service was excellent, ordered with no fuss and the waiter was very friendly and tempted us inside to eat in the warm. The bar is a tad small, however it opens up to a good size restaurant and also had a 'family room'. You could tell this place is popular as the car park soon filled up and a few 'reservation' signs were on tables. Would I come back again, yes I would, staff were very friendly, the food was nice (will need to tell them to burn my food next time) and the garden (with playing area) is ideal.
