We were about to walk the Thames Path from Abingdon to Radley , but first we did a short walk in the other direction which is very picturesque. You need to cross Abingdon Bridge to get to Thames Path and we spotted three pubs in a row.- the first had quite a dull bill of fare, the Broad face had some good choices , and the third pub, the Nag's Head had a notice about the history of the pub and how wonderful it was but no sign of a menu. So after our 20 minute walk we came back to the Broad Face. The pub was empty apart from a friend of the barmaid, or perhaps off duty staff rel;acing on a bar stool. There was a 3 course offer but we thought we would have a starter and main course and then decide whether to have a dessert. One of us had mushrrom and poache degg on toast and the other some chicken pate with apricot chutney, Both were delicious. Then one of us had fish pie and the other chicken and mushroom pasta. These were delicious too. We were very satisfied so decided to forego the desserts although they sounded good, so of we are in the area again we will do main and dessert .
