“Ultomate English Country Pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 December 2013

The Kings Head is just about the ultimate English country pub. Low ceilings, real fires, warm service and gourmet style food.
We stayed two nights and ate in the restaurant on both evenings. Great food, well presented. Thoroughly recommended

Room Tip: We preferred to eat in the bar area as the restaurant is very quiet

Just what I had been looking for. A relaxing weekend in the Cotswolds. The food was so good the first night we decided to eat in the second night too.
One small criticism - the window in the diningroom should be better draught proofed. We asked to move as did customers on the next night.

I stayed at The Kings Head Inn by myself for 2 nights whilst shooting at a nearby farm with friends. The Inn is warm, toasty and welcoming and the location is quite picturesque. Even on a Sunday night it was busy despite it being off the beaten track. My courtyard room was spacious, warm and well-equipped. Pleasingly the bed was extremely comfortable. I ate dinner on the first night and was impressed with both the quality of the food and the excellent service. Breakfast on both mornings was a real treat. I could not fault any aspect of my stay and I will be back next year

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms are spacious and quiet

Since our stay we must have recommended this Inn to at least 2 dozen more of our friends. We could not praise it enough. We were looking for a country pub with good rooms and excellent food in front of an open fire. We were not at all disappointed the whole weekend was perfection. The food was outstanding, the room very comfortable and the Inn itself idyllic. My favourite was the little bantam chickens roaming free in the grounds - so cute.
We are keen walkers and the walks in the area were great. We hope to be back soon,

We booked 2 nights in a courtyard room and had dinner both nights. The room was lovely (and quiet!) and there was a wonderful atmosphere to the pub, set in the most beautiful Cotswold village of Bledington. The service was exemplary and the food was probably the best gastro pub food we've ever had. The steak was so good that my wife had it both nights, and I had it the second night. It's an excellent base for walking too, and we enjoyed a lovely 6 mile walk, taking in the cracking Nether Westcote pub, The Feathered Nest. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: I would recommend the courtyard rooms, they are so quiet

Just come back from a great weekend at The King's Head in Bledington. What a marvellous place! Very good food/wine and lovely welcoming atmosphere. Slight mix up over tables was sorted out quickly and with charm by owner who was very hands on - but all staff were both friendly and efficient. Rooms are delightful too. Stayed two nights and will definitely go back

I stayed at the Kings Head Inn for 5 nights in September and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was nice and the water pressure in the bathroom was good. They cook an excellent breakfast. The restaurant serves excellent food, but you need to book in advance – that shouldn’t be too much of a challenge if you are staying there - because the place is often booked solid. The people who run this place a very friendly. They even let me use their computer once or twice. The ceilings are rather low. So if you are tall you want to mind your head all the time. But apart from that, if you want to see The Cotswolds then this is a very good place to stay at.
