I surprised my boyfriend for his birthday with a night here. Ralph (the host) was fantastic and showed us around and got the hot tub going - which was the highlight, you have to do it to get the full experience!!! The wagon is comfy and perfectly heated for a cold and rainy night. Make sure to leave the curtains open to be woken up by the most amazing sunrise I have seen in a long time. Would 100% recommend a trip here.
Booked as a surprise night away for my partners birthday and I'm so pleased I found this place it's completely perfect! The wagon is so beautifully made and the layout is so clever, all the little touches add to its charm. The view is incredible and sitting in a steaming hot tub in November and watching the stars while not being cold is an incredible experience!
Ralph and his parents were so lovely and very helpful, providing extra wood and taking the time to show us around and answer any questions we had. There is a wagon manual which is full of helpful info, from how to work the little oven through to some recommendations of local pubs and some waking routes.
My partner said it was the best birthday present ever and we are already thinking about when to re-book!
We stayed in the Wagon in the Woods the night after our wedding which was down the road. I was keen to stay in a smart hotel, with room service and a pool but my wife saw the wagon and loved it, so that's what we went for! It was absolutely great. So nice to be completely private tucked in the woods, Ralph had lit the stove and heated up the hot tub before we arrived and whilst we didn't use it that night, it was still perfectly warm the next morning and coffee in the tub looking out across the fields was a great start to the day. We brought some breakfast but tea, milk and coffee where all provided. All in all a fab escape, I highly recommend it.
The Wagon has been built in a peaceful setting within Ralph's property. A lot of thought has gone into building the wagon and the hot tub. There is everything inside and outside to enable you to cook/eat. If you are looking for a chilled out evening lighting fires, cooking outdoors, relaxing in the warm hot tub with a loved one then i would recommed the wagon for a simple and memorable evening. Top marks for Ralph as a host. Lots of info provided when we booked and on arrival.
Five stars doesn't even do this place justice!
Just returned from a surprise visit for my girlfriends birthday and it was everything I had hoped it would be. It was perfect.
The cabin itself has been built expertly, you could see a lot of time and effort had been put in to it to make it feel ever so homely.
The hot tub, just woah. Warmed by a log burner alone! Sitting in the tub with a few drinks and looking out to the fields was a great way to end the night... We even had a visit from some cows and chickens!
I highly recommend visiting the Wagon, I can assure it will not disappoint.
Thanks a lot, Ralph! We hope to return again

Having been to Ralph's other property, The Bluebird Penthouse, we had a feeling it would be something special and we weren't disappointed. The Wagon is small but perfectly formed with every detail carefully thought out. In a peaceful woodland setting with lovely views from both The Wagon itself and the outdoor hot tub, it also boasts a comfortable BBQ area backing on to the woods themselves. We will definitely return!
I am delighted to have discovered this little gem.
The room is beautifully built by Ralph, and designed with gorgeous details; copper piping, pretty towel rails (yes really!), no plastic at all - everything made in natural material with care. The window is stunning with views over rolling fields.
It is set in its own little enclave at the end of the long and ambling garden, sheltered by trees.
The hot tub was a breath of fresh air; fired by a wood burning stove, it has none of those chemicals or roaring bubbles that you find yourself shouting over.
We spent much of our stay around the fire, immersed by trees. What you can't experience in the photos is the lovely birdsong that surrounds you.
A truly chic destination. No detail overlooked, nothing left wanting.
A fantastic escape from the city.
